God speed dear zombie Star

SlankyBodger · 30/01/2017 09:33

Crocheting is great, things grow far more quickly than with knitting - especially if you're not a very expert knitter, like me. I have lost all my hooks somehow, they must be in a knitting bag which has been put away somewhere safe! Aaaaargh. I learnt from a book 30+years ago, but YouTube would be a better tutor.

Thinking of you, Zombie, and your family. 🕯

MumToTiny · 30/01/2017 09:35

Just donated to the hospice, when asked for relationship I put 'mumsnetter' - whoever looks through the influx of donations is going to have quite an education, if they weren't aware of Mumsnet before!
Thinking of Zombie Flowers

Much love from the Midlands this gloomy morning I havnt crochet since I was a small one maybe I should start up again

Lissette · 30/01/2017 09:37

mazdazzle it is icy and cold up here though. Sun is making the ice glisten. Beautiful.

MrsEvadneCake · 30/01/2017 09:40

I really hope the phalanx don't mind. I've created a thread where people can offer to teach others to crochet or can find someone.

Candy's Hugs are such a wonderful thing and maybe some new friendships can be forged over a Brew while creating love in every stitch.

What a lovely idea, MrsEvadne - Zombie would love to think of new meet ups & friendships being formed.

Maybe you could also put a link to it on the Candy's Hugs thread?

MrsEvadneCake · 30/01/2017 09:45

I will thank you. Smile

MrsMozart · 30/01/2017 09:51

MrsEvadneCake that's a lovely idea lass Cake

MrsHathaway · 30/01/2017 09:53

Found a crochet pattern called "candy" last night and hooked it with love for Candy's Hugs, sending very best wishes and prayers for peace.

smartiecake · 30/01/2017 09:53

Another one who thought of you as soon as I woke up. Zombie you will be in my thoughts all day. I am also intending to learn to crochet so I can contribute to candy's/woolly hugs

DoubleR · 30/01/2017 09:54

Having a large caramel latte and a cheese and mushroom omelette in the Sainsbury's café. GrinBrew

BiddyPop · 30/01/2017 10:03

Good morning Zombie - the rain has stopped here in Dublin, so although it is still quite grey, there is the promise of a nicer afternoon. I hope that the skies lift for you too, and carry your wonderful spirit with them to the place for you - wherever that is and whatever you believe in, that there must be a place in the universe for your spirit to carry on.

PenelopeNitStop · 30/01/2017 10:06

Morning Zombie, hope you had a peaceful night 🌹

MalcolmTuckersOmniShambles · 30/01/2017 10:11

Bath! I've said it before and I'll say it again, I'm REALLY jealous of your lovely cafe so near to you! What you're having today sounds delicious.

How's BathsLad doing?

Fiderer · 30/01/2017 10:21

Still think Baths has shares in S.

Am envious really as nothing similar here. But I do have a most delish pretzel here. Fresh, soft, salty. Could do with dunking in mustard & a beer to wash it down but must go to work & think the school would frown on beery Fid.

Kisses & hugs & all good things for Zombie

(waves to Biddy, as am also in Dublin, near Dublin Bay)

The sea is peaceful this morning here, Zombie, the seagulls are creating a bit of a racket, the windows of my house are salty from the recent high winds but all is calm now. And as Biddy said, the promise of a sunnier afternoon. I hope that all is peaceful and well with you and you can slip forward in your own time, knowing how much you are loved xo

Furtyferret · 30/01/2017 10:28

Thinking of you all, Zombie go in peace x

BathshebaDarkstone · 30/01/2017 10:31

It was very nice. Grin

BathsLad's hanging on in there, he's a bit better after the pseudamonus flared up again.

BathshebaDarkstone · 30/01/2017 10:34

No I seriously should have though!

Beery Fid would not be good at school! Grin

Fiderer · 30/01/2017 10:43

Dunno, beer might make Yr 5 a bit easier to handle.

Looking through my work stuff I remembered I'd said we'd do hot chocolate & biscuits this afternoon. Can't cancel as for the first time ever I have 2 bakers in the group. One will have made cake at the weekend & the other 400 chocolate chip cookies.

So heaved wobbly self to the shop & bought vast quantities of choc powder (Caotina - tis v nice) & milk.

Bungs hot choc at Zombie - on reflection, passes is prob better than bunging.

Hot chocolate and biscuits. At the DC's school they have that with the HT if they're star of the week. Except it's cupcakes instead of biscuits. The HT must love Fridays! Grin
