Well the day flew by around me and am just catching up. I'm delighted to see so many of you approve the idea of donation to the very hospice hosting our dear Zombie. Would so much love to see the various expressions the notes elicit. 😸

Am afraid i may have to lay down my spear and resign if it turns out that whisky (or even whiskey) is required drinking in the Phalanx. Boak. Truly. Cannot bear it.

I throw myself on the mercy of you all. I shall take the night shift or even clean up duty. Please may I be excused?

now how do confess I feel the same about ale?

AcrossthePond55 · 29/01/2017 01:01

2017BKA

Whisky makes me boak, too. We'll just slip a bit of food colouring in some gin. They'll never know the difference.

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 29/01/2017 01:22

There is no required drinking in the Phalanx.

I'm very sorry if it hasn't been clear.

You can drink what you like, whisky, whiskey, gin (1000 options) red wine, pink wine, white wine, beer, or not.

Smoke what you like, or not (as long as you share the best bits)

The main thing is, if you don't fancy any of it, you're fine too.

Yamanba · 29/01/2017 05:33

Donated as the Asian arm of the Phalanx Grin

I'm sitting here with my herb tea ( hangs head in shame) but I do have chocolate!

Thinking of you Zombie, I've put the candle in a west window so you can see it.

Wishing a peaceful Sunday to all.

abbsisspartacus · 29/01/2017 07:12

Wishing you peace and the knowledge that you are loved sweet dreams zombie Flowers

JennyOnAPlate · 29/01/2017 07:49

Morning all.

Last night I decided it would be a good idea to raise a whole bottle of Sauvignon blanc plus 2 coronas for zombie.

My head hurts.

I hope you had a peaceful and pain free night zombie Flowers

duskonthelawn · 29/01/2017 07:54

Lit a candle for you yesterday morning, zombie. I put it on my kitchen windowsill while it was still dark, it looked very comforting.
Hope you had another restful night and were comfortable Flowers

UnbornMortificado · 29/01/2017 08:20

Morning Zombie, Morning All

Jenny my head was splitting yesterday, I never touched a drop the night before Confused

PotOfYoghurt · 29/01/2017 08:24

I've had some lovely sloe gin this evening, and am off to bed. Goodnight Zombie and have a peaceful day, goodnight phalanx and may your spear arms be strong.

SloanyAnne · 29/01/2017 08:32

Morning!
Raising a mug of strong coffee and hoping for a good day for Zombie.

ExitPursuedBySpartacus · 29/01/2017 08:38

Another day another dollar.

Waiting in bed for my tea.

MrsMozart · 29/01/2017 08:42

Baths yay for happy socks and for a safe place Flowers

Good morning sweet Zombie and mighty Phalanx.

Another day, another dollar, or at least a foray into the world of trademarks. Have a good one y'all.

MalcolmTuckersOmniShambles · 29/01/2017 08:43

Morning, everyone! Morning, Zombie.

Dare I say it, I'm not partial to whiskey either, or ale. Does that mean I'm out of the Phalanx?! However, I DO like gin although my tipple of choice at the moment is Baileys. Is that too un-Phalanx like?

Hoping everyone has a good day and that Zombie is spending it in blissful morphine-induced clouds, surrounded by friends and family. Flowers

ChippingInLovesWoollyHugs · 29/01/2017 08:51

Malcolm. Zombie would approve of Bailey's - most definitely. She'd also approve of whatever else you fancied, be it Gin or green tea, as long as you are happy and aren't choosing it to be ladylike 😂 😊 I'm about to put a hefty glug of Baileys into some coffee - all in name of the visiting bear of course!

or that the day has a y in it

iklboo · 29/01/2017 09:02

Morning all. I'm surprisingly hangover free - but that's good gin for you!

Hope you've had a restful night Zombie.

Zombie Juice (can't work out how to do that TM thing) is 43%. It has fennel, cardamom, coriander seeds (doesn't taste of coriander though), elderflower, lemon, liquorice and camomile. I might get that still for my birthday after all.

The cool thing is, you can phone up the place & reorder a bottle of what you've made. Not sure how much (he didn't mention that bit) but it won't be ££££ cos they only use a mini still.

PacificDogwod · 29/01/2017 09:34

Good morning, Phalanx! Smile

Well, DryJanuary ended last night for me - rare night out for DH and I and it seemed churlish not to have a crisp white with my lovely sea bream Grin

I never, ever drank any spirits at all... until I moved to Scotland and I was taught how to drink 1 finger breadth of single malt with a few drops of water over the course of a whole evening - lovely!

MalcolmTuckersOmniShambles · 29/01/2017 10:22

Chipping, I like your style and wish I'd thought of Baileys in my morning coffee!!!

MrsMozart · 29/01/2017 10:34

Will we need a new thread soon?

Allalonenow · 29/01/2017 10:38

MalcolmTucker You are spot on with your choice of Baileys, Zombie too is a fan, especially of the Chocolate Luxe version.

PenelopeNitStop · 29/01/2017 11:02

Morning Zombie, morning Phalanx.

Hope you had a good nights sleep Zombie.

iklboo - very impressed with your Gin making skills, especially hangover free stuff! Do you take orders now? Grin

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 29/01/2017 11:03

Good morning all. Zombie I hope you had a peaceful night.

OrlandaFuriosa · 29/01/2017 11:04

Morning Zombie.

Our cupboard is full of whisky, DH is a Laphroag fan, me, I like Talisker, Tam Dhu and Highland Park. But we keep Speysides for guests, blended for Atholl Brose, and are given weird and wonderful ones. There is a Japanese whisky tasting happening near us shortly.

In another life I invite you here to one if our whisky evenings, in this one, enjoy the pleasant sensations crested by morphine not the watery stuff.
