BathsLad gets all his meds delivered, and his Fortisips. And his Lego Xmas Grin

cozietoesie · 04/01/2017 18:06

It may be, thinking about it, that they'll only deliver if it's a stable dose, Mega. (Not quite so much need for physician input.) I don't know the rules, I'm afraid.

UnbornMortificado · 04/01/2017 18:08

My local pharmacy does (Britain and Robson) but the next bigger town over has two and neither deliver.

Mummylin · 04/01/2017 18:16

Lloyds pharmacies deliver. My brother does this since he retired .

JaneAustinAllegro · 04/01/2017 18:25

Can I throw in 11/12ths of a case of poisonously strong red wine? Christmas gift for a family of white wine drinkers! It can be branded as zombie blood, and is sure to give a good purple lip effect within minutes.

For the music, how about Rebel, Rebel? A good nod to the great attitude of the Zombie. Also Don't Stop Thinking About Tomorrow...

AcrossthePond55 · 04/01/2017 18:59

Sounds as if your support system is really coming together Zombie. I'm sure it's a great feeling of relief.

I get that same 'wake up tummy' at times (for a different reason) and it can take me 10-15 minutes to get to the sit up position without gut pain. What works for me is gently, gently rolling to my side then slowly slowly 'walking' my upper body to sitting using my elbows and arms. I also try to have extra pillows to lay back on if I have to start over.

And in honour of that:

MrsMozart · 04/01/2017 19:30

Yay the organizational skills of the Zombie!

Well done on all that m'duck. Boo to innards needing a lying-down-position and a sitting-up-position. Hopefully they'll get into the swing of it, plus your new bed should allow you to sit up gradually, thereby allowing t'innards to get themselves sorted.

Car is not yet sorted, but as least they've given me another car in the meantime. I feel I may need to blast out some of the music from here as it's all fine form.

Thinking about useful things for the home:
a stool to go in the shower;
a picky-uppy-thingy, so you don't have to bend down for stuff off the floor;
a cup that makes it easier to drink from, for those really not feeling it days;
a slidey thing for car seats, makes it easier to get in and out of the car, without twisting through the waist;
a teasmade - keep it by the bed (or a bottle of gin, whichever);
a frame thingy or stick with pronged end, for the days where things don't want to work so well.

OhTheRoses · 04/01/2017 19:39

What's the slidey thingy? That cd be helpful when my back is bad (I broke it).

Oh Zombie, so mu h organising. You are so proactive and admirable.

Fiderer · 04/01/2017 19:47

I'm going for a classic martini. Gin, vermouth, 2 olives. A little stizzle swick (sic, ref MASH)

MrsMozart · 04/01/2017 19:53

Roses it's one of these thingamabobs: www.amazon.co.uk/MovingParts-Rotating-Swivel-Cushion-Mobility/dp/B00LLHNP8U/ref=pd_vtph_201_bs_lp_t_1?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=KNT9BM4PSF4VXS1CRGER

Fid MASH is the only way to go Grin

IamtheZombie · 04/01/2017 20:05

My GP surgery dispenses the drugs themselves. It's not a problem. I have the appointment with my Oncologist just after lunchtime and will pass the surgery on the way. I'll just call in and collect them then.

After the hospital I shall traipse lightly through Sainsburys. I have a list of essentials (BANANAS!!) to get me through the weekend.

I will then come home and have a nap.

Fiderer · 04/01/2017 20:10

MrsM Indeed. No wonder my daughter thinks a martini at 6 am is the norm Wink She did though, having watched all the series with me at a young age. It's still our favourite cheery-up show.

I blame Hawkeye.

OhTheRoses · 04/01/2017 20:12

Well, it's a good idea to power through it with sheer grit imo zombie

I've just pulled "wet Friday" through to "wet Wednesday". V nice red. Work Sucks.

Will have a look at the slidey link. Thank you.

Fiderer · 04/01/2017 20:13

Oi, Z - check your emails, lovey.

As FidBoy2 says, moochas scmoochas.

UnbornMortificado · 04/01/2017 20:14

Nothing wrong with a nap. You need to be careful not to over do it and end up bad the next day.

In other words pace yourself lass Grin

OhTheRoses · 04/01/2017 20:15

Fid I read that post as you being the blonde one possibly with the lips Grin

Fiderer · 04/01/2017 20:21

Roses you mean HotLips? Heavens no, am much less fierce and much more glam

OhTheRoses · 04/01/2017 20:23
Grin
QuimReaper · 04/01/2017 20:27

Sounds like a helluva day Zom, I'm in my PJs in bed with a book already and I've achieved about 10% of that Blush

So grieve a bit but then get down and boogie. I will be at peace. I will be pain free. I will be busy catching up with those who went before me. Find the joy in those thoughts and PARTY!!

You are such. An. Inspiration.

BathshebaDarkstone · 04/01/2017 20:28

I always liked Radar. Suicide is Painless is now my earworm.

Fiderer · 04/01/2017 20:39

I love Radar. FidGirl & I have a shorthand for what we want to watch; BR or AR.

No wonder her school marks are shite Grin

MrsMozart · 04/01/2017 21:00

Hawkeye! I always wanted to marry a Hawkeye...

Still watch it now - I think there's something like 116 episodes recorded and waiting on the ma-chine to be watching. We've seen them all a zillion times before, but still, they need recording and a-watching Grin

bookbook · 04/01/2017 21:07

good evening folks
I am watching junk TV whilst supposedly knitting.
Why do I know nothing about cocktails? But I know quite a lot about MASH - i loved Alan Alda in it :)
Just a quick thing Zombie - much as I love bananas ( and I really do) they can be very bad for contributing to constipation ... thought I would pass on the info ( but ignore obvs!) . I have had to retrain my brain to not want one for breakfast every day.

cozietoesie · 04/01/2017 21:16

Sorry book. You've forgotten that people will also be imbibing these (deeply perverted) vegetable cocktails. The odd banana should present little difficulty! Grin

UnbornMortificado · 04/01/2017 21:20

You want prunes. Not as nice as bananas (and I've never heard of a prune cocktail) but they will loosen things up.
