SueDonim - your guess to no. 9 is very amusing considering what the answer is ...I didn't have a clue who he is either by the way.
Answers a bit later.

OP posts:
sylvev · 18/07/2002 19:34

Lyric: Everlasting love.
3. Turkey
5. old age. (geriatrics)
11. Margaret Beckett.

This is a good idea!

Marina · 18/07/2002 19:38

SueDonim, I am deeply shocked! No 9 is the media favourite to be the new Archbishop of Canterbury, and a very good choice IMO. Currently Archbishop of Wales.
5 - ageing, or old age.
8. 15th century
10. Tongue? (something throaty)

Enid · 18/07/2002 19:38
  1. Is that Prince Philip?
10. Throat? Mouth?
janh · 18/07/2002 20:10

7 - 1964???

(I'm struggling again, Fionn!)

janh · 18/07/2002 20:13

anagram - EMBALMED! YES! RESULT!

janh · 18/07/2002 20:16

1 is Warsaw (but I cheated, with google - I knew it was E Europe though.)

Fionn · 18/07/2002 21:15

Janh well done on the anagram and film year! And to Bozza for knowing Margaret Beckett, I couldn't remember that at all. And Sobernow for Dr Dolittle, I'm usually good at the book ones but didn't know that. And Marina is obviously an clergy expert! And everyone else who got:

1 Warsaw
2 Prince Philip
3 turkey
4 New Zealand
5 ageing
6 Lyndon B Johnson
7 1964
8 Fifteenth
9 new Archbishop of Canterbury
10 tongue
11 Margaret Beckett
12 mutton
13 pestle
14 Dr Dolittle

ROFL at number 9!!! But c'mon guys, gimme a break - the next Archbishop of Canterbury isn't exactly headline news in the Jakarta Post!!

EMBALMED is very apt for me, as we live next door to an embalmer. Strange job to choose. I looked at one of her books the other evening but I wish I hadn't, as DH had to wake me up from a nightmare about dead children in the middle of the night. I scared the wits out him by screaming out loud, apparently, and now I'm banned from looking at any more of her books.
