My tribunal thing has been going on for over a year now. I left my last job, felt i was being 'squeezed' out because my manager didnt like my having children and subsequent request to work part time. He started treating me as a second class employee because of it. When DD was born I got card, flowers, home visit with bag full of baby gap stuff. When DS was born 2 years later, I didnt even get so much as a reply to the message to say I'd given birth (wasnt expecting bag of gifts or home visit again, but, it showed me how his attitude had changed towards me). I complained about the non-contact and lack of congratulations it to his manager who was very apologetic. When I told him about the other stuff that had been happening he closed down completely and didnt even respond to me. I fretted for a few weeks, then handed my notice in because I couldnt go back. Still no response . Then I emailed, got a response, manager rang me at home and pretty much had a go at me. Was told they would get back to me. Four weeks later - no reply. I wrote again. Finally got to go grievance. Grievance meeting was held in a STarbucks~!!!!

Thats the summary of it. TRibunal started July last year, had a whole day of questionning, then the next day a panel member went off sick and the case was postponed and relisted for Mon Jan 29th, 30th and 31st. They finally settled out of court at 4.55pm on Friday

VVV - big congrats on standing up to your pig bosses (I've been through similar - also settled before the day in court). It's a great feeling putting the money towards something you both can enjoy, after all the stress. The first thing I bought was a sandpit for DS, then a new mobile for me, then a holiday... Good luck for the big day.
