I go to one at St Lukes on Shirley Road on Thursday mornings, whereabouts are you? Are you new or just 'recruiting'?

Homemade biccys sound nice.........

SoupDragon · 19/05/2004 20:49

The group's been going for years but we've lost virtually all our regulars recently. We're at St John's in Spring Park Road (I think! I'm not sure of the road name). I'm not sure why we've scared everyone off - I don't think our children (both 3) are that rowdy. Well, my DS2 (fondly known as Attilla) might be I guess...

Last week it was just me and my friend and we run it together! Today we had (gasp) a dad and baby daughter combo. We might have to change out name from mother and toddler.

Today our children iced chocolate shortbread star biscuits - homemade of course.

I'm in Sanderstead - ds is 11 months - is he too young?? I'll happily come along if there are biccies...

SoupDragon · 19/05/2004 20:58

No, he's not too young the dad's DD was round about 9 months (just crawling).

It's about 15 minutes from Sanderstead.

moominmama86 · 19/05/2004 21:00

See you next week then

Is it definitely Spring Park Road? I don't know Shirley that well!

SoupDragon · 19/05/2004 21:02

I've been going there for 5 years, I really ought to know where it is... hang on a mo

OP posts:
SoupDragon · 19/05/2004 21:04

Yes, it's Spring Park Road, Shirley

Any special biscuit requests?

SoupDragon · 19/05/2004 21:06

Out of interest, you're not involved with Croydon NCT are you...?

lydialemon · 19/05/2004 21:06

I don't think its you. BF is on the committee of the Spring Lane one, and has been fretting about numbers for the last couple of months. At one point it was only committee members there too!

I'm going away for a couple of weeks at the weekend, but if I can overcome the fear of walking into a room of strangers I'll come up after half term with DS2 (4 in 2 weeks) and DD (7 mths) I am a complete social coward though - I travel all the way from Streatham to BFs group just so I'd know someone!

coddycodcod · 19/05/2004 21:07

soupy! you hav driven them all away?
thiught of a leafletting excercise?

SoupDragon · 19/05/2004 21:09

The leaflets are printed and handed over to my co-host as she actually lives in the immediate area. I've no idea what we've done - there used to be about 20 families. It's a small hall so at least we don't rattle around in it when there's just our cosy twosome. We do have to eat all the biscuits ourself though!

It won't be a roomful of strangers, LL, there'll probably just be two of us!

OP posts:
moominmama86 · 19/05/2004 21:12

Nope, am not part of NCT - am also social coward and cannot pluck up the courage to go to very-well-turned-out-mums local NCT group lol!!

I do go to a nice group down the road from me now and then but it's quite a big one and I wouldn't mind something a little bit smaller...

Lydialemon - I'll go if you go

SoupDragon · 19/05/2004 21:17

Thank goodness - I've managed to offend a large portion of Croydon NCT

OP posts:
SoupDragon · 19/05/2004 21:17

(and they're not all well turned out at all)

OP posts:
lydialemon · 19/05/2004 21:21

OK, if I can do 2 MN meet ups I can do this! I'll be there on the 10th(?) MM86 - I expect to see you there too!

What did you do to offend the NCT?

SoupDragon · 19/05/2004 21:24

Nothing much, I just wasn't a "yes woman".

See you on the 10th!

Help - just realised there must be a half-term looming.... When?
Is there parking?
Are the 3yo boys welcoming to other boys? Or would I have to initiate ds1 into TMNT

moominmama86 · 19/05/2004 21:29

Ok, lydia, it's a date

coddycodcod · 19/05/2004 21:30

cowabunga

SoupDragon · 19/05/2004 21:33

Half term is the week of the bank holiday.

I'm sure DS2 will be welcoming (eventually). No need to learn the ins and outs of TMNT as the other regular 3yo is a girl and it's never come up before

There's unrestricted parking in Spring Park Road and it's only ever a problem if there's a "popular" funeral in the church. Popular isn't quite the right word but YKWIM!

OP posts:
SoupDragon · 19/05/2004 21:34

I'm going to have to make sure the biscuits are extra special for the next few weeks before we dig out the Tescos "value" assortment again

OP posts:
lydialemon · 19/05/2004 21:35

Yay! We can go and scoff all their yummy biscuits! See you in 3 weeks MM86.

Half term is the week after next.

LadyMuck · 19/05/2004 21:36

Don't coddy! DS1's previous heroes have either been on CBeebies or been part of the FP Rescue Hero series (catchphrase: "Think like a rescue hero, think safety". Seems to have been introduced (somewhat ineffectively) to Powerangers at playgroup. I tried watching some of it the other day - couldn't make head or tail of it. Ds going round the house saying "I'm gonna kill ya" all the time... Suddenly even TMNT looks appealing..., but he hasn't seen those yet.

lydialemon · 19/05/2004 21:37

Being dense..whats TMNT?
