If you can work it out, I'd go for it.

Sounds like a fabulous opportunity.

ParanoidSurreyHousewife · 11/12/2006 22:22

For 11 months I would look at getting an au pair or mothers help as additional back-up. I'd go for it!

6beetrootsAmilking · 12/12/2006 07:07

crunchie - i was thinking about you and how you managed.

It is such an exciting opportunity and I would love to do it ..hmm!

Would definitely go for it but also get a Mother's help for some continuity for kids and takes pressure off all the others.
Makes sure you get ther in good time that you can train her up and feel comfortable when away.

mateychops · 12/12/2006 09:02

Go for it, girl!

6beetrootsAmilking · 12/12/2006 09:04

I have asked my dad how he is fixed - kids said go for it!

I started by asking how they would feel about going the the States for the summer!!

OP posts:
mateychops · 12/12/2006 09:06

Ooo, how dreadful, they said! Bet they are even more excited than you now.

6beetrootsAmilking · 12/12/2006 09:07

6beetrootsAmilking · 12/12/2006 09:10

OP posts:
FrostyTheSnowMarsLady · 12/12/2006 09:13

I could still come and see though... right?

fairyjay · 12/12/2006 09:16

The children will be so proud of you, and you'll be doing special things to make your absence up to them, and will everyone else. They'll be spoiled rotten!

If it's such a good opportunity, you have to go for it - it must be really exciting!!!

Good luck

6beetrootsAmilking · 12/12/2006 09:16

god yes!!!

Can I give you my shopping list?????

6beetrootsAmilking · 12/12/2006 09:26

Marsey - yes to you!!

Still not sure o be honest !

Not actually touring until June - that I think will be the easy bit - it is the 3 months in London that is going to be difficult!

OP posts:
DingDongDraculaOnHigh · 12/12/2006 09:42

hmm tricky one

I agree that you will need one person who will be a constant, a live-in nanny or au pair would be best really.

You would still be around at weekends and presumably they are at school and after school activities a LOT so you are only missing out on a few hours at beginning and end of day. If they know it is for a finite length of time then I think you could sell it to them - plus imagine how delighted they would be to see you at weekends!

DingDongDraculaOnHigh · 12/12/2006 09:43

could some of them do weekly boarding for some of the time (just a thought)

tortoiseBells · 12/12/2006 09:51

Yes, go for it!

6beetrootsAmilking · 12/12/2006 10:01

they really don't want toweeky board and if I have two here I might as well have 4 iykwim.

foxtrottothefestivegrotto · 12/12/2006 10:05

wow, it sounds like a fab opportunity. Your LOs are old enough to understand and be proud of you - it's time to do your own thing!

Blu · 12/12/2006 11:43
