Yet another thread of Musketeer perving appreciation.

Meanwhile some wenches go on/continue road trips across the UK

DS has been pestering for a tree. I am going to use this as a metaphorical stick/incentive. We can't get a tree until you tidy up the lego. Devious Grin but also true.

Stupid cat is more scatty than usual recently. She has taken to hunting/chasing ping-pong balls round the sitting room. I worry what this might mean for the Christmas tree decorations this year.

Afternoon wenches. Just read last nights rewatch Grin.

Can I come and sit with the grumpy wenches? I have toothache. Got emergency dentist apt at 2pm.

No tree here until next weekend - 12 days before and 12 days after.

Badders123 · 30/11/2015 12:21

We are getting a tree on Friday! :) no idea what I will do with the coffee table that is currently where the tree is going Hmm
I've got the Xmas pjs out, the Xmas blankets, the advent calendar and advent candle....:)
I swore last year I wouldn't get a Star Wars Lego AC again but of course I have :) soooo....many mornings will be spent trying to put tiny Lego battle ships together...coz my mornings aren't stressful enough! :)
Am sat in sofa under a blanket watching peep show....

Obs2015 · 30/11/2015 12:27

Morning.
Sorry to hear of all this migraines, sickness, earache, toothache etc.

I cant seem to get going with Christmassy stuff. Mind you, I cant get going with anything - I haven't even put my Elkonbury case back up in the loft, or my piles of Elkonbury clothes away, washing basket is overflowing. Cant even consider getting tree out of the loft yet, because the place looks like a bomb has hit it. I haven't ordered any Christmas presents, in fact I don't even have an advent calendar for ds2 yet - will have to buy one this afternoon. I have been like this for the last month or so, cant get going, only doing bare minimum.
How do you lot find the energy?

Badders123 · 30/11/2015 12:40

Obs :(
I guess I always aim to be organised - this works better some years than others! This year what with all the hospital appts and tests etc I've been trying extra hard to get it all done for December 1st (just in case I needed an op)
I still have all my cleaning go do prior to tree going up...in fact I should be doing some now Blush
Advent calendars can be done today.
Get thee to Amazon with your credit card (it's cyber Monday) and do an order then all the gifts will arrive together :)
I do 98% of my shopping online for Xmas. Have done for years. Got my grocery order booked for Xmas eve.
I am, in fact, incredibly lazy and hate shopping so it's online all the way for me :)
You also might find some ideas on the Xmas bargains thread?
(Hugs)

Badders123 · 30/11/2015 12:41

(I may need an op but it will be after Xmas now I think - I will find our weds)

AnneEtAramis · 30/11/2015 12:41

I haven't done anything really either Obs. Tree won't go up for ages yet. Maybe the weekend before.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 30/11/2015 12:47

Obs - I increasingly find the energy by waiting until the last minute and then panicking.

Saying that, I have started writing Christmas cards because it needs doing and DH does a good brf if I plug into my laptop whenever I'm 'supervising' DS

Badders - the tree goes on top of the table, surely?

PC has just turned up in this episode of peep show!!
:)
He is playing a history professor.

Badders123 · 30/11/2015 12:50

We get a six footer Helen so...no :)

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 30/11/2015 13:31

Do you now Badders - lucky you eh? Wink
(I suspect the 'six footer' in my brain isn't the same one as yours)

JacobFryesTopHatLackey · 30/11/2015 13:32

I take the same approach as badders. And do most of the shopping online cos I live in the back of beyond.

obs ELC, the bookpeople and boots are doing cyber monday too. If you want voucher codes I can send you mine. That goes for any wench.

I do like Christmas and make an effort for it, mostly cos I don't have great memories of Christmas with my family. I also get a giant 6ft+ tree, usually the biggest we see and then FIL trims it down to fit.

Badders123 · 30/11/2015 13:58

The thought of setting foot in a shop in December fills me with fucking dread tbh

MadamedeChevreuse · 30/11/2015 14:32

I seem to have pushed through the migraine without the aid of drugs. Woo!

mouse I am so excited! Have you got tix? Im taking ds when he breaks up from school on the 18th. I hope it isnt scary cos he WILL have a freakout if it is.

mrsb ouch, oh no, you poor thing! Hope it gets sorted and stops hurting. I just went and saw a lovely new dentist. He is Spanish and called Fonzie. Grin DS has an emergency appt with him this Friday...he has toothache cos the last dentist we had appears to have given him a bodged filling. Angry

I've been following bads' example and doing some online xmas shopping, but like obs can't seem to get into it. At least I've got a few bits now. Mostly HTTYD.

I need your clothes advice wenches. It's the posh work Xmas party next week. Do I bother buying a new dress, or will I get away with wearing the one I wore last year? No one will remember or notice, right?

JacobFryesTopHatLackey · 30/11/2015 14:40

Madame I have the midnight screening tickets for the 17th . I'll try and let you know how scary it is.

I love the sound of your dentist. Spanish, you say?

And what kind of dress is it?

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 30/11/2015 14:57

I wouldn't be bothered with new dress for works do, but it depends if you want a new dress Grin If you don't, then don't bother? Assume there's no hideous literary-inspired theme to ignore this year?

OP posts:
MiladyBeaWinter · 30/11/2015 15:05

Don't buy a new dress, use it as an excuse to buy new shoes and bag instead. Wink

Am back from dentist and all numb. My wisdom tooth is being reabsorbed by my body apparantely Shock. Clearly that's not good and it's either because of an abcess or it's caused one. Anyhow he tells me it's early days, has drilled and dressed and if I'm pain free in 24 hours I can keep the tooth. If not it's coming out. Bah.

I rang this morning and got same day emergency appointment. It's a fab dentist.

Right schoooooooool run.

Badders123 · 30/11/2015 15:45

I have tickets for 19th :) VERY excited.
Wrt shopping...I sold my soul to Amazon years ago...no going back now :)
Ds1 football training has been called off due to weather (hurrah!)
Now all I have to do is dinner....just not feeling it.
I was meaning to ask you all actually...I used to love to cook...all meals from scratch, baking, made my own bread etc etc
Now?
Just cannot be bothered. At all.
I was on the menopause thread and some of them were saying same...their need or wish to feed and nurture just sort of...disappeared.
Anyone else?
I could happily never cook a meal again :(

MadamedeChevreuse · 30/11/2015 16:16

Im not sure I ever had it tbh bads! Most of the time I find cooking a right chore.

ooh yes mouse that would be great if you could let me know. It doesnt look bad from the trailers, but who knows....

mrsb why is your body absorbing your wisdom tooth?? Shock Grin anyway it sounds bloody painful, hope it doesn't have to come out. Flowers

I loooove my spanish dentist. He is very young looking but still fit and sounds bery bery espaneesh.

The dress is black, knee length, quite nice but a bit dull. I actually got it wrong last year, there was no fancy dress theme to ignore! Tragically I have only worn it once...to that party. My reasoning is, if that's how often I go to posh do's, clearly I don't need more than one dress...

AnneEtAramis · 30/11/2015 16:16

Bads - Amazon have my consumer soul but they might soon have my entire soul.

Badders123 · 30/11/2015 16:19

Me too, Anne, me too :! Good luck for the job! X
Madame...dress sounds lovely. Maybe new dangly earrings or a new bag or both to compliment it?
Ds1 begging for food...sigh....

AnneEtAramis · 30/11/2015 16:20

I don't like cooking.

The End

AnneEtAramis · 30/11/2015 16:21

I would buy new accessories, rather than dress.

Badders123 · 30/11/2015 16:23

Ah wenches, I knew you wouldn't let me down :) I've been feeling quite low about it. Glad it's isn't just me! :)

MiladyBeaWinter · 30/11/2015 16:39

Not just you Bads. I doubt it's menopause related so much as a time thing. I've had enough of cooking every night for an unappreciative audience. Same meals because otherwise the DC moan, and never time to have a go at nice stuff.

I love Amazon. I'll even forgive them not paying taxes if they keep delivering stuff to my door the next day. Beats schlepping into town every time.
