because it's all shite.

OP posts:

Spooks - ok so as far fetched as all the hospital dramas/police dramas etc but it kept me gripped seeing how things would turn out.

I hardly ever watch TV in "real time" - anything we fancy goes on the Sky+ then we watch it with fast forward over the ads, hit "delete" if it's no good after the first 10 mins!

Agree that "Evicted" was good - v thought provoking. Skint was good as well - frustrating and good. Love Child of Our Time but not sure if it's good telly or that I just like seeing what other kids do compared to mine!

I see that ITV have totally given up on the fact that 31st December is New Year's Eve - BBC2 has the usual Jools Holland, BBC1 is advertising Big Ben at midnight, ITV just has a crap film on, no mention of midnight!

BuffysMum · 06/12/2006 22:44

Shameless was fab!!!!!!!!!!!!!
6 feet under!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have watched on DVD new version of Battlestar Galatica - absolutely fab, never saw the end of the series cliff hanger coming (rare!)

Stockingsofdinosaurs · 06/12/2006 23:07

My Name is Earl! Hilarious and heartwarming.
I liked The IT Crowd too, very silly.

SchneeBallFight · 06/12/2006 23:09

Maybe I am sad but 'lost' is fab! You have to have watched it from the start though and I probably like it so much because of the eye candy but it does have me gasping out loud at times

SchneeBallFight · 06/12/2006 23:09

wish Sawyer had me gasping out lound

bctmum · 06/12/2006 23:14

the apprentice - love that programme.

NOELallie · 07/12/2006 12:15

Sorry to be dull but I watched 'The Lost Gospels' om BBC4 ( I think) on Monday. That was fascinating. But only by accident. I really like Holby City but that is my only concession to crap TV.....

Don't bother with much else these days.

Having said that Jackanory is really good

NOELallie · 07/12/2006 12:17

And QI. And Dr Who when it starts again. And 'My name is Earl'...loved that.

poppynic · 07/12/2006 12:32

I saw Robert Winston's latest, is it "Child of our Time"? last night. It really helped me put my pregnancy "woes" into perspective. I promise I won't moan about them again .... well not for a couple of days anyway .

nailpolish · 07/12/2006 12:33

i wish Life On Mars would hurry back

bakedpotato · 07/12/2006 12:46

another vote for Curb. It's unbelievably funny.
(Who was stealing the newspaper last week, I couldn't work it out?)

Marina · 07/12/2006 12:49

Howard Goodall
Curb Your Enthusiasm
Without a Trace
Repeat on BBC4 of Lonesome Dove
Reapeat on BBC4 of the completely engrossing Iain Banks adaptation The Crow Road
A lot of it is dreck but there are some good things out there
Ds and dd love Jackanory and Jakers! and so do I

ClementClarkeMoore · 07/12/2006 12:49

Ballet Changed My Life

See No Evil: The Moors Murders starring Maxine Peak as Myra

these are two that spring to mind.

Notquitesotiredmum · 07/12/2006 13:31

ER. It's just reappeared on my telly in the mornings. All's right with the world!

Steppy1 · 07/12/2006 13:33

nailpolish · 07/12/2006 13:44

WhenSantaWentQuietlyMad · 07/12/2006 13:46

Steppy1 · 07/12/2006 13:48

nailpolish · 07/12/2006 13:50

steppy i have a feeling...

what happened at the end there? theh last episode, i cnat remember

WhenSantaWentQuietlyMad · 07/12/2006 13:53

I must confess nailpolish that I love it. I have never laughed so much as when GR ate that rotten scallop in the last series. It gave dh and I the 'tears rolling down face' giggles for weeks. More or less the only thing worth watching for years.

Need to redeem myself now with some more intellectually stimulating progs.

Power of Art by Simon Schama anyone?
Or the Nazi War Crimes series?
Planet Earth, already mentioned.

I really would like to get into the West Wing, but just haven't got the attention span right now.

nailpolish · 07/12/2006 14:03

i just glue my eyes to the screen for the bit where he is changing into his chefs jacket

and those eyes

i htink my favourite programme is Never MInd the Buzzcocks, it is so funny i have aching sides

i think there is a lot of good comedy on just now

Notquitesotiredmum · 07/12/2006 14:13

Me for Spooks too.

Steppy, no. I'm sure that I read that Adam has signed for another series.
