Iron-on still too much like hard work for me - the ones I have used in the past all peeled off eventually.

PEN. As long as it's identified at DD's, then the school will not give one jot.

SparklesRedHotChileLeather · 07/08/2015 10:39

Yep - biro in shoes. That will wear off unless but so will any sticker in there, believe me.

SparklesRedHotChileLeather · 07/08/2015 10:39

Delete the 'unless'

MiladyBeaWinter · 07/08/2015 10:42

Aha, I did skim read, but probably fair to say I could not apply for that job eh? I dumped French and did Latin at school, because, um..... history. I was crap at it anyhow.

Crown of Thistles was the one I was after, thank you. Think I have read the other one already, was ok iirc.

Drink this is who I get labels from stores.ebay.co.uk/Carelabels Bought for about 5 years from her, she started off just as ebay seller but not has website and facebook. Changed her iron on ones this year but says they are better. I like you can get little symbols on the labels so the DC could identify stuff even before they could read name. Also DD has the exact same name as another older girl in the school, so helps avoid mix ups.

MiladyBeaWinter · 07/08/2015 10:45

But yes, what the others said. Pen is fine really. However my labels feature as an example in the school handbook for parents of new starts and my handwriting is utterly unreadable

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 07/08/2015 10:57

Alrighty then, now my mum says she might not be able to help me with the cash thingy for a house. I mean she's the one that encouraged me to look for houses because "oh I can help you, bla, bla etc", "you can save so much money, bla, bla". I haven't even thought about buying before she started suggesting it.
Oh well, fair enough, but please don't get my hopes up for just letting me down later on.
So I'll guess I'll just have to handle this on my own, which is fine by me. Now SHE want's to move and might be looking for a house, which I've heard lots of time before also, and then she changes her mind.

So I will not take her seriously from now on!

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 07/08/2015 11:44

Sad ww

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 07/08/2015 11:54

Skipping the house viewing tomorrow!

My new plan is this: It's possible to get loan for a part of the cash deposit but I still have to pay an amount in cash, so I'm going to work and save money and start looking again when I have a steady economy, and I'm going to look at properties I can afford and not the one I thougt I could afford.

I'm taking control and doing this on my own and not leaning on someone I apparantly can't trust in this matter. I'm a bit pissed of actually. Is she playing with my mind? I never asked for any help in the first place!

Oh well, I'm happy with my new plan!

Baddz · 07/08/2015 13:46

Sounds a good plan ww! I am the same with my mum now...she is very unreliable :(
Chaise...will you be joining me on the her wagon? :)
Induction went ok. Got more training on Tuesday. Start "proper" next weekend which annoyingly is a weekend dh and da1 are away :( so that won't be stressful AT ALL

FancyFancy · 07/08/2015 14:29

How annoying for you ww, it sounds more like she's had the idea of looking for her own house now wants to put her money towards that Angry. Glad you've already made a new plan & at least now the only person you have to please is yourself - it may be easier in the long run!

Glad the induction went well badders

I do sew labels in (and occasionally use pen) - just make sure that whatever you use can't be easily cut out by thieving bastards.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 07/08/2015 15:11

I've done no packing at all, or lists.

Lalalalala I shall do it later, it will take no time and won't be at all stressful after all. #deluded

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 07/08/2015 15:50

I bet you were brilliant Bads Smile Star

The thing is that she already has her own house and the plan was that she could take a loan with that as security for a downpayment for any house I might find, and I would pay her back for that, but I guess not.
She talked about moving before, every time she gets angry with my half sister (they live in houses next to each other) but this is the first time she talked about buying another house.

Oh well, I have a plan now and that feels good Smile

LiviaDrusillaAugusta · 07/08/2015 17:31

MrsB ^^

I studied it at school and OU and still study a bit for fun!

FancyFancy · 07/08/2015 17:47

I really enjoyed Latin too - even though we never got to do any of the racier Catullus Grin

LetUsPrey · 07/08/2015 17:50

Evening wenches.

Not packed yet. I need a packing elf.

LiviaDrusillaAugusta · 07/08/2015 18:22

Fancy Oh I loved Catullus - it was so wonderfully batshit! We didn't do the good stuff either but I have since found a book so that's one of the things I like to translate Grin

When PC played a Roman in Doctor Who, how I laughed because the couple was called Caecilius and Matella, which were the names of the people in my first Latin book - I think Russell T Davies must have studied the same book as we did!

I may also have got TRH at PC in Roman gear Blush

LiviaDrusillaAugusta · 07/08/2015 18:31

Look at the sexy sexy Roman Grin

MrsEvadneCake · 07/08/2015 18:40

So I've bleached my hair and the pink is on stewing, I've plucked my eyebrows and packed....nothing. I'll be beautiful but stinky.

If you find a packing elf letus can you get me one too please?

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 07/08/2015 18:57

Packing elf? Me too please! Grin I have counted how many days we're away now - that is a start....

chaiselounger · 07/08/2015 19:03

Has the elves that sew the shoes - side job if being 'packing elves' been to Helen's, LetUs's and Minty's?
If not, I fear we have 3 wenches who require at least some sort of assistance.

I have done 3 loads of washing and taken ds's to a super park a little away, to try to get ds2 to learn to ride his bike.
Ds2 missed the balance bike era, and is genuinely scared. But he will be 7 soon, and ds1 learnt by 5, so I have to get this done. But he really doesn't want to. I don't want his friends teasing him though.

chaiselounger · 07/08/2015 19:04

Sorry to read about ww's mum and the house.

LetUsPrey · 07/08/2015 19:20

I have a vague memory of doing some Latin at junior school. No idea why.

Nearly packed Grin

MrsEvadneCake · 07/08/2015 19:23

Well done chaise for trying with the bike. It's hard when they are nervous.

Sorry you've been let down ww and badders glad it's gone well.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 07/08/2015 19:27
