Catching up ... whoever's DC had travelsickness, could be eyesight related; when I was younger my prescription changed super-fast, and as it got wronger, I got more travelsick, and sometimes would feel a bit 'swimmy' even when just walking around.

Also could be ear related - if there's an ear infection in the semi-circular canals, it can send the balance right off.

My tips for avoiding car-sickness : sit in the front, if in the back don't look out of the window. Don't read or do computer games etc. Sleep. Eat ginger biscuits or minty things. Fresh air, colder car is better than warmer. No in-car air fresheners.

I used to take Joyride tablets when I was a kid. They are bleeeeugh. The best OTC adult ones I found are Stugeron, but I don't know if kids can take those. (Since I've had labyrinthitis I have a permanent supply of Stemetil which is a prescription anti-nausea medication. Two of those and I hardly notice I'm travelling at all !)
