i thought johnnie's model couple were called kate and james richmond because boden sell more clothes in the borough of richmond than anywhere else? suburban posh being his key look. maybe the 55k is what james brings home now kate is a SAHM? house already paid for with city bonuses and her inheritance...

"His salary last year was £202,517, and he gave himself a £2 million windfall payment too."

CountessDracula · 17/11/2006 13:05

I disagree

In SW london we have plenty of other shops to shop in

I would think it was more somewhere in the sticks

cupcakes · 17/11/2006 13:06

in that article he says he plans to open shops in the areas where he is most popular - and he has so far only opened one (in West London).

VeniVidiVickiQV · 17/11/2006 13:09

This is the local school boden moggells...

GoingQuietlyMad · 17/11/2006 13:45

I know that is how it's supposed to be pronounced, Mallory Towers.

But when we first went there we didn't know that. I saw the social mix in the town, and joked to my husband "This is the kind of place that gives itself a funny pronunciation to identify those not in the know. So I bet they call it "Foy" or something."

£55k? i think they left the "1" off the front...

cd, round by here there are tons of shops within easy reach but boden is still the key "tribal identifier" for the affluent yummy mummy/city husband tribe...

What about vintage-chic hand-me-down Boden stuff? In certain areas of North London you can't send your kids to school in NEW BODEN! Perish the thought, that's just chavvy, it has to be passed-on-previous-season stuff or you just look too much of a wannabee.....

CountessDracula · 17/11/2006 22:42

well bk I guess that is true of here but as I don't wear the stuff myself (am only 40 ffs don';t want to look like a granny yet) I don't notice it!

weepootleflump · 30/11/2006 08:48

I went to Boden sale in Olympia the other week and afterwards walked along Kensington High Street where just about everyone's dc were wearing Mini Boden - so Kensington?

unknownrebelbang · 30/11/2006 08:56

Certainly aint Stoke.

Azure · 30/11/2006 09:18

What was the Olympia sale like? The worst kind of jumble sale?

Bozza · 30/11/2006 09:23

I agree - I certainly couldn't make 55K stretch to a West London home and Boden.

I thought Olympia sale was waste of time - proper jumble (all the dregs left from the other sales) I went to the one at Leicester in Oct and it was much better. Had actually been hoping the Olympia one was going to be the pre-Christmas winter sale..

lapinrose · 30/11/2006 09:35

Ooh heck, I will be taking my twins into middlesbrough wearing their mini boden skirts tomorrow, will they be mugged do you think?
