so what wd you do with a sudden £40k windfall?

friend of mine just had news of this and not yet sure what to do with it. Just curious, what would you do??

Pay off credit card, extension and holiday. How lovely.

I would use it to pay for a priavte heath specialist for me, replace our car, pay for my mum and sister to come on holiday with us in the summer and anything left woudl go on the house.

Pay off debts and maybe have some work done on house.

pay off bits of mortgage. boring but the most effective way of spending it.

give a grand to each of my sisters and brothers (i have 6)
Give my mum 10 grand
takes my mates out for a nice meal and buy them a present each
pay a chunk off the mortgage with the rest

Save a big chunk to allow me to take 12 months' maternity leave for next DC, put a bit towards a holiday, pay some towards mortgage.

DH would want to spend it on a car

I would definitely quit this job immediately.

Buy dp a new car
Get double glazed sash windows like spider ours are really rattling!
Have a pond in the garden
HOLIDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

invest some, top up kids savings acounts
