I used to work at a UCI cinema and saw their mark up prices. They were totally shocking. Basically large pot of popcorn was bought for 12p sold for £3.90. Drinks bought for 32p sold for £2.80 etc. The penny sweets were shocking as well. I always go to woolies and get one of their cup things that you can stuff full of pick and mix (hint, put the bigger sweets in first then lots of little ones on top, they slide in the gaps and you can fit about 4 x the price in weight into the cup).

OCD you're just denying yourself!

i only go to the cinema on orange wedsnesdays now, BOGOF on tickets with a code. which means ican get popcorn and a drink there.

the last time i paid full whack for tickets (£6.50 each) i got the kids a bottle of water each, and it cost me a tenner on water as well as £40 on tickets. never never again.

I wonder if they can legally stop you taking something in or eating what you want in there??

Surely once you have bought your ticket you have a contract with them to asllow you to watch the film??

Hi - we always take our own food as we refuse to pay £3 for a portion of popcorn. Just take a big bag and smuggle it in!
