Can parcelforce give you a house number or something for the person who has signed for this item? Did you offer the buyer any type of postal insurance?

UrsulatheSeawitch · 17/08/2006 22:33

Don't Parcelforce take responsibility for delivering to correct address?

colditz · 17/08/2006 22:34

it's the fault of Parcelforce, not your fault.

fattiemumma · 17/08/2006 22:35

i wouyld say that you have done everything in your power to ensure the item arrived sfely ad that you cannot be held responsible for items lost in transit.
if parcelforce claim its been delivered and they have a signature to prove it then tell buyer to argue it out with parcelforce.

SpaceCadet · 17/08/2006 22:35

postal insurance is included in the price, parcelforce wont confirm or deny that it went to the delivery address, they say it may have been left with a neighbour, but all they care was that it was signed for, they say they cant be held responsible for a dishonest neighbour!

biglips · 17/08/2006 22:37

fattiemumma - thats what i thought too as the buyer is gonna have to track it down as you've done your bit

SpaceCadet · 17/08/2006 22:37

if im honest, i think it may be a try on

OP posts:
SpaceCadet · 17/08/2006 22:38

well i emailed her the tracking number so she knows i did def post it

The buyer needs to dispute the signiature with parcelforce, they should know who was delivering that day and the driver should be sent back to show where he delivered......(this is in fantasy parcel delivery world for parcelforce probably, but other parcel co's certainly do operate this policy)

SpaceCadet · 17/08/2006 22:44

well if she goes on the parcelforce website she can check the signature herself cant she..of course she will probably leave me neg feedback, she keeps demanding a refund, ive tried to ring her but no answer.

I'd say she needs to at least attempt to spk to pf herself as if its not her trying it on then its one of neighbours. Have you contacted ebay help to go over the situation with them and get some advice? How did she pay for it? I know that if its via paypal they sometimes do appeal type things on refunds and they don't always go the right way.

SpaceCadet · 17/08/2006 22:48

she paid by paypal-what annoys me though is that i told her the parcel was co ming on weds so you would have thought she had made provisions for someone to take delivery of the parcel..it all seems a tad fishy to me.

Won't PF tell you the name on the signature?

SpaceCadet · 17/08/2006 22:53

yes, ive seen the signature on the website, it doesnt correspond with the name i had down to deliver to, however could be a neighbour.

This happened to me (as a buyer) I rang up the company and complained about an item that didn't arrive. They contacted parcel force who had a signiture that was not mine so the company duly sent me the item out again and claimed from Parcel Force.

2 days later my neighbour who had been away for a long weekend came round to drop off the parcel he had signed for before he went away.....

Tell them to check at all neighbours etc before jumping to conclusions, however, ultimatly Parcel Force offer insurance, there must be a stage at which they pay out?

UrsulatheSeawitch · 17/08/2006 22:56

surely if they leave it with a neighbour there is a record of where it was left????

If not what is the point of using them?

kid · 17/08/2006 22:57

Have you given the name on the signature to the buyer? Its down to her to check now then if she can't find it, file a claim with PF.

SpaceCadet · 17/08/2006 22:57

well im guessing that if the person who signed, wasnt the person on the address details then parcelforce havent in theory delivered it as requested(wonder if i can argue that), trouble is, will probably take me ages to claim from parcel force and in the meantime ill have to cough up to the buyer

OP posts:
SecurMummy · 17/08/2006 22:57

IME no - they said that they had no way to know where it had been left - seemed insane to me too!

SpaceCadet · 17/08/2006 22:59

kid, i emailed her the name, she said she never heard of them.
parcel force juist said, it was delivered, end of, wouldnt tell me which address it went to, just said technically its down as having arrived at the chosen delivery address..grr..[frustrated and hacked off]

OP posts:
SpaceCadet · 17/08/2006 23:02

im also very worried that she may claim the money back from my paypal account.

OP posts:
Frizbe · 17/08/2006 23:03

Call them 1st thing SC and get it sorted, fingers x'd she won't think about doing a paypal re-claim, can paypal be advised to stop it/via e-bay (horrible hazard with that site.....)

fattiemumma · 17/08/2006 23:07

she can't claim for refund via paypal for 30 days so you havea little time in which to try and find oiut whats happened.

i would give her the parcelforce details and say its down to her to argue with them.

SpaceCadet · 17/08/2006 23:07

frizbe-yes i intend to ring them tomorrow..will not hang up until ive got to trhe bottom of it!
will try ringing her again too.

OP posts:
kid · 17/08/2006 23:08

If you don't have much money in your paypal account then spend it. She won't be able to claim if there isn't any moeny in there. Also email her to say you are getting onto PF about it and see what they suggest. Surely its their job to deliver it to the correct address or at least let you or the buyer know where it is. Whats the point in them delivering it to an address of their choice?!
