Parent and childparking.................................wheres your child????????????????

Why do people insist on parking in spaces allowing easy access to your baby, when they have no baby with them?
While at asda today a bloke parked in the last p+c space, with no child!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is made worse by the fact that the first time i took ds out on my own (again to asda) i have to walk from the far end of the car park in the rain. When i got back to my car someone had parked so close i was unable to open the door where his car seat was.
So soon after giving birth i was climbing over seats with a new baby to get him into the car.
I had to ring dh at work cos i could not stop crying, saying i never wanted to go out on my own ever again!
Lucky for me he has a 0-4 car seat not an infant carrier, i would never have got that in without moving the car out of the space, what would i have done with ds while doing this?

So for anybody who has been there

And for anybody parking here with no child or a child that is old enough not to need the extra space !!!!!!!!!!!

I know this will get someones back up but i dont care as i think somethings need to be said.

Why does a 12 year old child need the extra room, and why does a bloke on his own, to me its just lazy!!!!!!

I would love to know what other people think, or am i a missery.

I so agree with you. I get the MAJOR are ache. I have a go at them, but they won't even look my way! Alot of peeps with coupe's & flash sports cars park in them spaces aswell.
A
holes!

BrookeandTaylorsmummy · 13/08/2006 21:35

exact same thing happened to me a little while ago, ive got 2 babies dd 30 months and ds 6 months, a little man in a car she couldn't see over the steering wheel parked across 2 p+c spaces, I was fuming so parked right next to him and opened my door and asked why on earth he parked there, he started shouting abuse at me, parking attendant man (built like a brick poo house btw) came over and asked the man to move his car little man got even more angry so security guards came out and asked him to leave the premises which he did while calling me nasty lady names! silly little man! can totally understand you crying and never wanting to go out again, some people are so inonsiderate we dont just park in them cos they are closer we actually NEED them!

littlepiggie · 13/08/2006 21:37

Dh has started leaving on windscreens in big letters for all to see, or just having a go at them.

I think you are right, of course. But tbh it also sounds like you are slightly over-reacting. Maybe if it is so soon after having your DS you are still quite hormonal. It will happen lots of times so think you will have to try to not let it get to you quite so much, just for the sake of your own stress levels. And FWIW I never use them at Asda these days - i have a 5yo and a 2yo.

dmo · 13/08/2006 21:38

they should put parents carparking spaces further away from the shop as i dont mind walking from the car aslong as i can get child/pram out
this way the spaces wouldnt be used by lazy drivers

littlepiggie · 13/08/2006 21:38

good on ya!!!!!!!!!!!!!
first baby, first time out

Agree it would be better if they were further away from the shop and also not so convenient for the cash machines. Might discourage the lazy, selfish bods from parking in them. However, I'd like it if parking spaces were a bit wider and gave everybody a bit more room. I am very wary of having the side of my car bumped by careless people parked next to me opening their doors.

mistressmiggins · 13/08/2006 21:50

once I had to park in normal space & so when came back to car, had to get some stranger to hold the trolley while I backed the car out far enough to open the car doors

I park long way way if no Mother & Baby spaces as people are lazy

I did once go back into Tescos to report someone parking in M&B space - it was a man in a suit who went round the back - turned out to be a manager

littlepiggie · 13/08/2006 21:55

Do thay never think of there thing when they build carparks!!!!
Its the same with disabled, they can walk around shops, but not a few yards to another space.
i have seen people go stright to the spaces, with no child in car.

true about the cash machines seen people park in p&t to nip to cash machine
people whi park in p&t as they are just picking something up or they wont be 5 mins makes me
for their 5 mins shopping trip its trormer for parents with babies

littlepiggie · 13/08/2006 22:00

dh reported one women after giving her a gob full, the assistant he spoke to made an anouncement (while this women was in the shop)saying something along the lines if having respect for people with babes and young children.

I am so glad i am not the only one, although i know i would not be.
I would like to hear from anybody who has parked in the spaces with no need, to see what there reasons are.

misdee · 13/08/2006 22:07

was that a dig at disabled people using p+c?

littlepiggie · 13/08/2006 22:08

and i dont mean parked in p+c at 11pm cas we have all done that.
I also think they should change the name from p+c to p+t, as i think some people take the p**s(sorry).

milward · 13/08/2006 22:10

lp - on your disabled parking comment.

Quootiepie · 13/08/2006 22:10

I hate seeing people in P & C.... its when you have a baby you realise how important these spaces are... you need to know you can get the carseat out, trolley next to you etc.etc. its impossible to get a baby out anywhere else. I nearly had a go at a man and his floozy in his merc parking in the last P & C space, but bottled it. Makes me though.

littlepiggie · 13/08/2006 22:11

I mean people parking in disabled who are not, came out wrong.
The same ones that park in p+c, i mean disabled spaces get treated the same as p+c by people been lazy.

OP posts:
Quootiepie · 13/08/2006 22:12

I think they should have fines for improper use.

wheresmyfroggy · 13/08/2006 22:12

Think there is no doubt that disabled people are more needing of special spaces. We choose to have children , am pretty sure nobody chooses to be disabled.

littlepiggie · 13/08/2006 22:16

I hope everyone gets want i was teying to say, i will start again i think.
its people that park in disabled and p+c bacouse they are lazy that ia have a problem with,NOT DISABLED.

OP posts:
Jimjams2 · 13/08/2006 22:18

ha ha I read it, thought "whaaaat?" then worked out that you prob meant people were snaffling disabled bays. So blood pressure returned to normal

milward · 13/08/2006 22:19

Sorry if I misunderstood lp

Blondilocks · 13/08/2006 22:20

What annoys me more are people who park over 2 spaces. It's just lazy - how long does it take to straighten up and park properly?

I also can't stand people who open their doors onto other people's cars. Ok sometimes it happens by accident, but I have seen people blatantly do it.

I prefer to park a bit further away from the supermarket where there tend to be more empty spaces & you can go & shop then come back & still have empty spaces around you.

littlepiggie · 13/08/2006 22:20

So glad, was getting all bothered thinking i had upset people over the wrong thing
should read back before pressing post.
