God I HATE that advert - which other adverts seem to be written by men....

Aside from Vagisil of course!!

The advert in question is that one for a loo cleaner where the woman has just had a baby and has her "friends" over. One asks to use the loo and the glamorous looking mums main concern is that the loo is clean. The friend in question goes into the loo looking all critical but is so pleased as the loo is clean. Aarggh - when I had my dd I couldn't give a flying you know what if my loo was spotless, I certainly didn't look glamorous and if any of my friends had turned up being critical of my loo cleaning abilities she would probably got a severe tongue lashing. Definitely written by a man me thinks.

Are there any other adverts out at present that are obviuosly written by men

What's wrong with gay? Look at Audrey and Brenda .

Misspiggy · 01/08/2006 16:36

Apparently Coke Zero is aimed at men (I've seen it referred to as Bloke Coke somewhere..can't remember where tho')so maybe that's why the advert is so male orientated. What's that car advert where the guy is driving through town and all the women are swooning as he drives past because of his "amazing" car? Used to make me want to throw things at the TV

SecurMummy · 01/08/2006 16:37

Salamander at least you care enough to get wound up - I just don't give a hoot about most of the things the advertising gurus come up with to iritate us into remembering their rubbish products! (I am a very bad consumer!)

Lynx adverts ..argh!

MrsBadger · 01/08/2006 16:38

ah but the point of coke zero is it is for men
so they don't have to feel all girly ordering diet coke in a pub

(and am pmsl at Capp saying Barry Scott is so gay. It was just your tone of voice...)

southeastastra · 01/08/2006 16:38

i don't know why it's aimed at men, my mate asked for it in the pub and the barman laughed at me when i said it was for men only

JennT · 01/08/2006 16:46

I love the Guiness adds....

edam · 01/08/2006 16:55

Apparently the ad industry term for those ads where one woman is explaining to another woman the merits of some washing powder/kitchen cleaner/floor wipes/whatever is 'Two Cs in a K'. Stands for two c**ts in a kitchen.

Tells you everything you need to know about the industry's attitude to women...

morningpaper · 01/08/2006 16:56

mumtochloe I HATE THAT AD SO MUCH
I HATE IT

What is it, the fcking FIFTIES?

quootiepie · 01/08/2006 16:59

yeah, who IS Barry Scott?

MrsBadcrumble · 01/08/2006 16:59

oh god yes the girlfriends who don't have a five year plan - I am seriously annoyed by that, as if it were the bounden duty of all men to avoid procreating for as long as possible so they can fill their time with endless wanton shagging, surfing holidays, gadget acquisition and wanking.
Fucking infants.

quootiepie · 01/08/2006 17:00

yeah, who IS Barry Scott?

morningpaper · 01/08/2006 17:00

God I'm glad I am not the only person who has counted the arses on the arse advert

There are usually about 8 pert women's arses, one "comedy" i.e. normal woman's arse and 1 man's arse

evil

KathyMCMLXXII · 01/08/2006 17:02

Me too MP, I counted the arses when someone told me that not only was it ok, in fact it was feminist because there were fat as well as thin arses....

Cappucino · 01/08/2006 17:03

it's always men telling women how to clean, if you've noticed

my mum said it started in her generation with Jimmy Young telling her how to clean her floor

now we have the bloke off Brush Strokes and Barry Bleeding Scott

should be a couple of c**ts in a kitchen going 'oh yeah, bang a bit of that on and I'll open the wine'

Cappucino · 01/08/2006 17:03

how is looking at women's arses - fat or otherwise - feminist?

Where's Germaine Greer when you need her?

Northerner · 01/08/2006 17:07

There's a really naff advert for frubes I think, where teh woman is hold a lunch box and she actually says something like "Mums, it;s difficult deciding what goes in your kids lunch box"

SecurMummy · 01/08/2006 17:16

Yes but you all know the products - and look at all the free advertising they are getting here

shazronnie · 01/08/2006 17:21

freckle the cillit bang advert scares me - why would i want to spray something so noxious around my house???

FGS the dirt is holding the place together!

merrily · 01/08/2006 17:30

Barry Scott isn't actually real - he's an actor pretending to be someone we've never heard of. It's supposed to be all very post-modern... utter bollocks more like.

southeastastra · 01/08/2006 17:32

a bit ot but i read somewhere that itv can't make any more children's programmes because of the 'junk' food advert ban

SecurMummy · 01/08/2006 17:40

huh? so ITV can only manage to make childrens programmes about junk food?

southeastastra · 01/08/2006 17:53

no because of the loss of revenue to make the shows
