What colour eyes do your kids have?

I have blue.
DP has brown.
DD1 has blue.
DD2 has grey/green.

Actually, brown desn't describe DS1s eyes properly, They're are a beautiful ambery brown you could drown in

Gorgeous big ocean blue eyes that you just want to dive into and a shock of beautiful red hair to go with it!!

Me, DH, DS2 and DD - dark brown

DS1 - Blue

Now I know where the blue eyes come from on my side (Dbro and DSis are both blond/e and blue eyed) but DHs family are a bit iffy over the fact that it had to come from them too (Greek/Cypriot. very dark middle eastern looking) Now I know my genetics is only O'Level standard, but it (recesessive blue eyes) does have to come from both sides doesn't it?

They all take after DH,all have olive skin,dark brown hair.

dh has brown eyes and I am the only blue eyed one out of the 5 of us.

ds1 are the best as they are a very dark almost black brown and were a beautiful colour when he was born.

It's more complicated than that, Serenity. IIRC (having googled it a while ago) you can get blue eyes due to a lack of pigment rather than 2 blue genes. Or something like that.

I was very surprised to have 2 blue-eyed, fair haired children.

me: dark brown eyes, black/brown hair
dh: blue eyes, dark brown hair

No-one on either side of the family has fair hair. Where does that come from then? Eyes I can understand as there is more blue than brown influence

The "kids" have his skin colouring too tbh they are nothing like me.

DD: blue eyes / blonde hair

DD gets eyes from my side

Me = green eyes, dark hair and skin that tans easily
DH = blue eyes , blonde hair, pale skin

DD = blue eyes, blonde hair, pale skin
DS = blue eyes (but are turning green gradually), dark hair and skin that tans easily.

I bet you can easily tell who takes after who!

So it's all rubbish about dark eyes being more dominant or did some of you take the wrong babies home?! Actually Mum was brown eyed, Dad blue and we all ended up blue-eyed.

It's not rubbish, it's rather more complicated than brown genes dominating blue genes.

DP and his sister are both brown eyed - his mum is brown eyed and his dad is really bright blue.

Its a stand in joke that the postman also had brown eyes.
