TooTicky · 07/07/2006 22:58

Ikea is Swedish. I can't not love it.

GordonZola · 07/07/2006 22:58

I do.

Beauregard · 07/07/2006 22:58

I do,but must admit to not having tried the old flat packed stuff yet.
Love the rugs and kids stuff!

JackieNo · 07/07/2006 22:58

I love their stuff, and (mostly) going round the shops, but don't like the queues at the checkouts.

hunkermunker · 07/07/2006 22:59

No the queues are bad. But OK if you go at mad times.

I do - but only cause there are two things that I want from there and I can't get to it

I only want to improve life for my children - but will they start to sell online - NO they Won't...

and no-one will give me a lift..

and it is only 25miles away from me

iamapieceofcheesecake · 07/07/2006 22:59

Yup, I do, but only manage to get there once a year, unless it's something I really want then I will make a special trip.

YellowFeathers · 07/07/2006 22:59

I do I do I do!

Dh spent an absolute fortune there last week. We're waiting for some stuff to be delivered.

JackieNo · 07/07/2006 23:00

Some friends admitted a couple of days ago that they got a babysitter and went to Ikea one evening. Not a bad idea.

jampots · 07/07/2006 23:00

i do

moondog · 07/07/2006 23:00

IKEA is great.
Not for everything but for some stuff-glasses,cutlery,chep kids' stuff, candles.)
I brave the Warrington branch about twice a year on a Friday night.

Mine is love hate relationship. Hate the crap service and the queues but love the relaxed atmosphere and the fact that the kids are actively welcome there, not just sneerily tolerated.

Gobbledigook · 07/07/2006 23:03

Well, I went to Warrington branch last Friday morning and had a fabbo time! Arrived early to find tea, coffee adn hot choc free before 10 for a start off!

Bought mugs, glasses, coloured glass plates for kids, plastic bowls and beakers for kids (99p for 6!!!), step for the kids for the bathroom, large cheap rug for playroom, couple of picture frames, couple of plants and pots. LOVED it!

moondog · 07/07/2006 23:06

Ah yes CF.Our Moscow flat was an eclectic (shall we say) mix of IKEA and Russian kitsch (think walls of classics bound in turd brown and huge lights like Eliza Doolittle's parason.Plus 'de rigeur^ cabinets full of vodka glasses,Swarovski crystal and lacquered enamel)

moondog · 07/07/2006 23:07

Ooh might try morning next time GDG.
It's 24 hour that one,right??

MrsJohnCusack · 07/07/2006 23:08

I do!
there is no IKEA in NZ and I must say I'm a bit worried about that...

ghosty · 07/07/2006 23:10

I do
But for me I think it is a case of 'You only miss something when it is gone' as there is no Ikea in NZ and decent affordable furniture is non existent here - you either pay cheap and get cheap or pay through the nose for nice stuff.

Am very excited about moving to Melbourne though - they DO have Ikea there!!!!!!!!

hollyhobbie · 07/07/2006 23:10

i love it too. 90% of our house is full of their stuff.
there's a brnach on the route between work and home - very dangerous!

BadHair · 07/07/2006 23:10

Me too. I love the market place and nicky-nacky stuff, but am not too keen on the furniture.
I mean, you just can't argue with 120 photo frames for £1, can you?

ghosty · 07/07/2006 23:11

MrsJohnCusack ... there is a lady in NZ that imports Ikea from Australia and sells via her website. BUT it costs a small fortune! $1200 for a child's loft bed

Gobbledigook · 07/07/2006 23:12

Ooh, I don't know if it's 24 hour

MrsJohnCusack · 07/07/2006 23:14

oh good god Ghosty [schock]
maybe I will ship some more of my cheapo IKEA furniture over then.....

TinyGang · 07/07/2006 23:21

I love IKEA too. I like the way everything down to the last teaspoon has a funny name like Tjornstrunk and the way they somehow make meatballs sound special.
