I can't quite believe it yet... we've had good news

Dear all,

I feel totally stunned today. I phoned the consultant to ask about the report from the radiologist, and she told me that the radiologist found no abnormalities on the x-rays!
Which obviously is FANTASTIC news... but I don't dare believe them yet! I fear he made a mistake, or overlooked something, or looked for the wrong thing. Don't know whehter to ask for a copy of the report, or even a copy of the x-rays. It just seems waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too good to be true! Esp. in light of all the going-ons last week with the pneumonia and the oxygen-dependence...

I just don't know what to think now!!!

The consultant said we'd still have to look how he grows over time, so it's not 100 % that something might not come up in a few months or even years.

emkana, I completely understand, we are in a similar holding pattern with dh, although our concerns are absolutely nothing like as serious as yours with baby Sebastian. The desire not to believe is a potent force.

When can you see the consultant face to face, to confirm the radiologist's report?

Spagblog · 29/06/2006 20:16

Wow, fab news!
I hope that the stress that you suffered throughout your pg can be easily forgotten.

LadyTamba · 29/06/2006 20:16

OMG

emkana · 29/06/2006 20:17

I have an appointment with her in three weeks' time.

Seeing my GP tomorrow, do you think I could ask him to request a copy of the report?

I wish dh could have another two weeks' off now, to actually enjoy instead of suffer through, like we have done since ds was born.

Fantastic news

foundintranslation · 29/06/2006 20:19

That's great news, emkana! Even if it's not a 100% certainty - these findings are really really positive.

nutcracker · 29/06/2006 20:19

That is wonderful news

morningpaper · 29/06/2006 20:20

OMG OMG OMG OMG

bloody hell!

Olihan · 29/06/2006 20:20

That's such fantastic news emkana.

I don't see why your gp couldn't get you a copy of the report because it'll be on his notes at some point anyway. A friend of mine's just had an MRI and the gp got her a copy of the report.

Hope everything continues to be so positive for you and baby sebastian.

foxinsocks · 29/06/2006 20:21

I'm sure you could request the report.

What fantastic news. Maybe dh can wangle a few days off so that you can all relax a bit?

lionheart · 29/06/2006 20:22

Yes, your gp might be able to go through it with you properly, once you've had time to take in it.

Fab.

jellyjelly · 29/06/2006 20:27

Groovy name is he a seb, sebbie or sebastian (My son is one of these!) well done that is great news.

Caligula · 29/06/2006 20:29

Oh how fabulous. Fingers crossed for you.

emkana · 29/06/2006 20:29

jellyjelly, he gets called all those, depending on who talks to him/the mood we are in.

Also figured he could be cute as baby = sebbie, then cool as teen = seb, then sophisticated as adult = sebastian.

emkana - amazing fantastic news. a wee bit of welling up going on here. yes I think you ought to request the reports (but there might be some official bureaucratic hoop to jump through). can your dh take some more time off soon? enjoy your lovely little boy.
