MABS · 10/06/2006 20:52

love it, love it! was 2 hrs from Dubai last wk in Fujeirah and it peaked at 51C!!!

LadyTophamHatt · 10/06/2006 21:16

at the mere mention of 51 degrees...

How on earth did you survive that, Mabs???
I take it no-one went out side and air con is in every building.

MABS · 10/06/2006 21:19

I did a bit of sunbathing Lady T coz I am totally irresponsible and love the sun, also had to top up the tan! but we were under massive shades on beach and pool was totalled covered by shade. It was really lovely there.

Gingerbear · 10/06/2006 21:27

Crappola here in evenings - cannot leave windows open due to
a) blackbird sized mosquitos
b) Recently constructed 'Beer Garden' at pub across the road - 'Your first pint free, free BBQ at half time during all Engerland's matches'

southeastastra · 10/06/2006 21:27

its starting to cool down now, i need oxygen!

KBear · 12/06/2006 21:46

Still roasting in SE London. Is it cool anywhere in the UK? Can I come and stay?

WideWebWitch · 12/06/2006 21:47

Hey, all fellow sun haters, I am on a work day off site tomorrow and I think they may be thinking of making us DO SPORTS IN THE SUN, aaaaaaggggggggghhhhhhhhhh!!!! I am dreading it.

GDG · 12/06/2006 21:49

LOVE IT!

PPH · 12/06/2006 21:50

lovely lovely lovely
been swimming every day and bought two excellent tower fans in Costco for £25, so we are all happy

puff · 12/06/2006 21:51

lovely when sat by pool of villa, overlooking the sea, sipping a glass of wine, occasionally retiring to the air conditioned kitchen to top up glass.

emmawill · 12/06/2006 21:52

I live in Kent and its far too hot, I moan all winter its too cold when it finally gets sunny I moan its too hot and I can't move and one second in the sun and I burn, roll on Autumn so i can moan about the rain Grin

Rowlers · 12/06/2006 21:52

thigh rub

mrsbang · 12/06/2006 21:57

Two hands waving here.

I really struggle with the heat.

I get a muzzy head, prickly heat and it can make my eczema worse.

I know the weather's glorious, but it's horrid if it makes you feel offside.

Nice to see the lads out and about in it though,

ilovecaboose · 12/06/2006 22:07

I hate this weather. Its too hot to do anything. It gives me a headache. Ds is whingy and won't sleep properly. I get sunburnt and even more freckly. OH refuses to go outside cos of the heat and insists on wearing thick jeans all the time so he smelly. I WANT AUTUMN. Nice rainy cool weather.

nicnack2 · 12/06/2006 22:10

me. much prefer the winter when it is sharp frost and sunny. just as well i live where i do Smile

sheepgomeep · 12/06/2006 22:30

me cos I've got vitiligo and I can never ever sunbathe or get burnt. Factor 50 all the time for me and no sun between 12 and 4 Sad

2ManyPimms · 12/06/2006 22:31

I grew up in the Northeast US and temps regularly got into the upper 80s to upper 90s (with 80 - 90% humidity). Our recent 84F would have been a welcome break from the hellish temperatures!

I hate the hot weather and long for winter again!!! :(

southeastastra · 12/06/2006 22:37

uk never used to be this hot, its sickly, i just want a normal summer, summers that come gradually, air to breathe!

Earlybird · 12/06/2006 22:43

Two weeks ago we were wearing light jackets.....and an hour ago it was 32 in dd's room. There just doesn't seem to be much in between cool and unbearably hot. Heat is OK as loing as there's a breeze, and there hasn't been for the past few days.

Bomper · 12/06/2006 22:45

I HATE it, you never feel clean, 10 minutes after a shower you're all hot and sweaty again. My ideal temperature is warm enough so you don't need a jacket but cool enough that you can go about your daily business without feeling totally drained, sweaty and headachy

KBear · 12/06/2006 23:04

I took my two to the local waterpark after school tonight and am now officially best mum in the world. DD said so! I could have got in there with them it was so hot today but sat chatting to MIL instead while they had all the fun.

handlemecarefully · 12/06/2006 23:19

I would like the temp to be permanently stuck at 21 degrees.

The heat is causing complications - like not being able to walk the dog because she finds it unbearable...

Also ds is permanently puce faced and irritable
