Actually I 'm not crazy about Michael Palin, very self important on those trips, getting passive aggresively huffy if he was delayed by people going about their daily business.

Not for their respective music, but I think its hard to dislike Bono and Geldof for what they do humanitarian wise - they seem to take it seriously and not just for the cudos of it.

Not sure we are gonna reach any kind of agreement here ladies.....

ruty · 08/06/2006 08:34

Ah so I know where you live HC! Well, I know where you live near, at least....Grin

YohoAhoy · 08/06/2006 08:45

From the thread I'd go for Stephen Fry, but can I throw John Nettles into the mix? (figuratively speaking, obviously.)

There's something wonderfully solid and dependable about him, and even if you're not a fan of Midsomer Massacres, surely you can appreciate his calm professionalism?

Have a bit of a thing (non-romantic) about Mr Nettles. I've always wished he was my long lost uncle or something, as there is something fundamentally decent about him.

If you disagree, don't be mean - I might sulk prodigiously Grin

I think day time TV presenters should be out on principle..as daytime TV represents and indeed causes most of the wrongs of the world Grin

Alan Davies, John Nettles..somebody will suggest Lynda Bellingham next...all too too terry and June, can't we find someone about feisty to agree on?

Tutter · 08/06/2006 10:21

i like matthew wright - he's a bit feistier than the average tv presenter - but i suspect he may not be the most popular...

Tutter · 08/06/2006 10:22

(and i suspect he - or one of his people - likes mumsnet - his discussions of the day appear to come straight from the chat topic)

Dior · 08/06/2006 10:23

Tutter - isn't it more likely that his topic of the day is what is happening in the world that day, and therefore it is also chatted about on MN?

Tutter · 08/06/2006 10:26

yes, for some of them. but others are more 'left field' - may pick up on a very small news item.

are you a covert matthew wright researcher then? Wink

cupcakes · 08/06/2006 10:26

what about Kirsty from Location?

zippitippitoes · 08/06/2006 10:29

Tutter · 08/06/2006 10:31
