Can I join in? My test is 28th June. I just find it depressing that everybody I speak to tells me how many times they failed. I so much want to pass 1st time!!!!!

charliecat · 09/06/2006 16:30

Its 50/50 that you pass isnt it?
You will be ok, they are telling you they failed x 3 so that your prepared for the worst???
Everyone I know passed first time...so they say...

Thanks CC. Had a quick look at one of the sites but the range of frames are limited (compared to the milk bottles I shouldn't be that fussy should I?) Gonna try the others mentioned in the forum and the other opticians on the high street. Does anybody know anyone who has got their glasses from an online site? It sounds scary (to me, any way) How's your practice going CC?
I saw a learner driver who got arrested this week. Stupid girl (yes, she was very young and I'm not at all jealous that I didn't learn when I was her age!) was driving all over the place without anyone sitting beside her or any 'L plates' on her car. I'm glad she got caught. Did I say thank you cc for the link. THANK YOU Smile

wher did you think you had gone wrong? what manovers did you need to do?

OP posts:
bakedpotato · 19/06/2006 12:27

Aw, CC, Blush

I'll do one for you Smile

I thought I nearly ran down two pedestrians as I was leaving the test centre, but maybe he didn't think I was going fast enough Shock, then I got confused over whether to indicate leaving miniroundabouts, so I sort of half-and-halfed it to maximise options. There was also a (to me) sticky moment changing lanes on dual carriageway.

I got 12 minors, no majors.

park in bay, and turn in the road.

I did it in an automatic though. Respect to the manual drivers.

charliecat · 19/06/2006 12:33

LOL at running over the pedestriansShock Grin
Manual is stupid. I keep saying if theres a car that goes and stops with pedals WTF am i bothering with this for. And it because it will be dps car, manual that ill be driving.
So pleased for you:-)
My real life competitor has failed her theory 3 times... she has a a brand new car waiting and keeps getting 3-4 questions wrong lol

charliecat · 20/06/2006 18:10

Have you been out on your own yet bakedspud?
:)

OP posts:
bakedpotato · 20/06/2006 22:20

Nope. Not least because no company will insure me to drive the car Shock

well they will, but they want vast sums

car is 2.5 litre, not entirely sure what this means, apart from it makes the insurance people suck their teeth and stroke their chins (this is over the phone but i can just imagine it)

secretly though I am relieved Shock Shock
