DD and I are always looking for things to do on a weekend and are often running out of things to do in our local area or people (with children) to do things with!

If their are any other parents here who find themselves in a similar situation - speak up!

I'd like to start exchanging emails/chatting with people in similar situations and maybe arrange weekend outings in each others local area/meet ups etc.

How far can you travel Salt?

Twinkie · 03/02/2004 10:31

You can have whatever you want honey - bring a pack lunch for your kids and I will provide tea/coffee/nibbles/crisps and cakes.

The park is just up the road - there is a coffee shop and a playground and lots of space to get the kids to run about and wear themselves out.

(Course I knew you'd come SB DP out all day though so no one to play chess with - we can always get him watching more TinTin DVDs though - has he been reading the one DP gave him??)

Twinkie · 03/02/2004 10:33

It is just off the M25 Salt - or get a train into London and then out from London Bridge and I will come and get you from the station - should take you no more then an hour - I promise - DP drove to Luton Airport the other day and it did not take him long at all.

mammya · 03/02/2004 10:34

Shall we try and organise something for next week end too? or is that too soon?

littlerach · 03/02/2004 10:37

I would love to join you, too, as DH visits other children most weekends, and am always stuck. But I live in Wilts, qiite a way to go!!!
If anyone is closer, would love to meet up!!!

Twinkie · 03/02/2004 10:38

Are you coming to Godstone Park this weekend mummya - if you can get to New Eltham Train Station I can take you and DD down in my car?? (Tell me soon though cause would need to borrow car seat!)

mammya · 03/02/2004 10:40

Wasn't planning to but why not? Where is Goldstone Park? Is there a thread in the mumsnetters meet-up section?

salt · 03/02/2004 10:41

Twinkie - ask him how long it took? takes me about 30mins to Luton, so will give me a good idea as to time.

What is the M25 like past Thurrock/Blue Water?

sykes · 03/02/2004 10:43

Is that the 14th? Think we're free. Any ideas?

Godstone Park in Surrey about 30/40 minutes drive from me - if you can get to New Eltham by about 11.45 I can take you with me. Would I need to get a car seat for your DD - how old is she??

SALT - We are just past Bluewater turn off from you it would be Junction 2 or 3 and then is almost straight roads whichever way you go. DP get sback on Wednesday night so I will ask him then how long it would take from you. If you need to get the train we are 35 minutes (to our door) from London Bridge Station and the trains are regular to either New Eltham, Mottingham, Elthan, Sidcup or Chislehurst.

Twinkie · 03/02/2004 10:48

Surrey is Junction 6 - we are way before that.

I could do that, my dd is nearly 3 but tall. Which day is the meet up on ? Is it next Saturday?

salt · 03/02/2004 10:52

Just looked on aa routefinder and it took me clockwise, will have a look into it before deciding.

Mammya - can only do Sunday next weekend but would be up for doing something.

Twinkie · 03/02/2004 10:55

Saturday the 7th - will try and route out a booster seat from someone - my x2b probably!!

Email me if you can with what train you will be on - DDs ballet is just next to the train station and we will be there until 11.45 but I only live 5 minutes from there.

Twinkie · 03/02/2004 10:57

Actually my childminder will have one I can borrow.

Have to go now and get ma nad DD dressed - it will be lunchtime soon and then school and then am off out for dinner with my friend and her litle boy.

Please do all come to my coffee morning if you can - I will start a new thread tomorrow - Marina is near me but can't think of any others who live that close.

Yes I would go down the M1. M1/M25 - on the whole it takes me about 45mins to get to Slough and 45-55 mins to get to Lakeside. I always use those times to estimate how long things will take me.
