No, won't be getting one either but always fascinated by the mooncup threads!!

Troutpout · 24/07/2006 18:52

OOOooh no...
I am far too uptight to even attempt a mooncup...i would never get the damn thing out...it would be in there for all eternity

hovely · 24/07/2006 22:11

am sneaking onto this thread to hiss a recommendation...try it...try it...try it...you will be £££ richer, the planet will be the better for it, and you will not have chemicals and bleaches soaking into your insides.
there is not really any suction when you remove it if you give it a little squeeze to break the seal.
at work; well, unless you have some sort of ladies' urinal arrangement, there is plenty enough privacy in a cubicle to take it out and empty it. No need to wash it every time if that's inconvenient; after all, what are you washing away? just what's inside you already IYSWIM.
I soak mine in Milton once a month, wash it with soap once or twice, and otherwise rinse it when I can and don't worry when I can't. It is fab fab fab compared to liners/tampons.

schneebly · 24/07/2006 22:12

No but thinking about it!

hulababy · 24/07/2006 22:14

Not got one. Have no need - again! No AF for over 6-7 months again now......that appointment might happen one day - ha!

Posey · 24/07/2006 22:16

Tried it a couple of months ago, had serious trouble getting it out that I gave up and didn't even try last month. does removing it get easier with practice? I'm not squeamish or anything, but had real trouble getting a grip enough to pull it out.

WigWamBam · 24/07/2006 22:18

Don't fancy it somehow ... will be sticking to my reusable pads, I think!

notasheep · 24/07/2006 22:18

me

Blondilocks · 24/07/2006 22:29

No, not convinced.

PiccadillyCircus · 25/07/2006 10:47

WigWamBam you inspired me to get my reusable pads .

mumfor1standfinaltime · 25/07/2006 10:55

I got mine from here although I didn't go for the leopard print [smile
].

WigWamBam · 25/07/2006 12:11

I didn't go for the leopardskin print ones either

I wouldn't be without mine now - couldn't go back to standard ones. How are you finding them, PC?

trinityrhino · 25/07/2006 12:12

i haven't got one but only because I'm now pregnant so don't need it yet, I do want to get one though

PiccadillyCircus · 25/07/2006 12:15

I really like them - only had one period using them and so nice not to be using disposable ones.

I think I am probably one of the few people who finds it impossible to insert tampons . You'd think if two children have come out that a tampon would go in......but I'm happy with my pads .

Funny how things come around again - my gran used to used washable pads, but not quite like these .

CheesyFeet · 25/07/2006 12:49

Have just ordered one

WigWamBam · 25/07/2006 12:51

I'm another one who can't use tampons, PC - which is one of the reasons that I wouldn't consider a mooncup. Otherwise I think they're a brilliant idea.

mumfor1standfinaltime · 26/07/2006 11:58

Have never known about washable pads! Interesting link!

fattiemumma · 26/07/2006 12:12

not me.

tampons only im afraid.

im trrified i hav too much of a bucket and the little plastic thingy will end up in the middle of a pavement where i havent inserted it properly

mylittlepony · 26/07/2006 12:46

Can you get the Instead cups in the UK yet?
