Several of my friends have them because I have recommended them (from what I read on here). But I have yet to actually get one myself.

You can also get those disposable type ones that you can actually have sex whilst wearing..!!

Carmenere · 29/05/2006 17:22

I would quite like one but I think that cleaning it in the dishwasher or sterilising it or whatever may be too much for my dss to deal with(ha not that I would make him clean it pmslGrin. He's 17 and can deal with tampax being in the bathroom but he's a bit squeamish and easily to embarrass so if he came across one whilst I was cleaning it I fear total full blush meltdown.

SleepyJess · 29/05/2006 17:25

Ooh, whilst looking for the one that enables you to have sex whilst having a period (don't think I dreamt it), came across \link{http://www.femin.co.uk/?pageid=120&itemID=500\a rival} to the mooncup. Bit of a crappy colour tho...

Hollyboo · 29/05/2006 17:27

OMG SJ it looks like the plunger my dad used to keep under the kitchen sink!!

SleepyJess · 29/05/2006 17:28

Ah.. \link{http://softcup.com/\here they are}

Personally I don't often feel like shagging when on.. but for those of you who do...

Northerner · 29/05/2006 17:28

Not me! Don't want one either thank you vety much.

Hollyboo · 29/05/2006 17:31

No I don't either. And knowing my luck it would probably end up flying across the room or worse on the end of dh's thingy!!

charliecat · 29/05/2006 17:34

copied and pasted from soft cup

The INSTEAD® Softcup® is worn internally, similar to a diaphragm, and not in the vaginal canal like a tampon. Because the cup is not in the vaginal canal often your partner will not even know it is there. er, where is it then????

Hollyboo · 29/05/2006 17:40

If you get a diaphram you have to have it made to fit don't you? So how will that fit properly? Hmmmm me thinks there may be some leaking!!!!

006 When you remove it to empty it does it not spill? This is my only worry otherwise I want one!!

alibubbles · 31/05/2006 10:35

I have used all three, the softcups leaked too much, but were good for a bit of nooky.

The keeper is hard, but disguises the colour of the blood if you are squeamish, but the mooncup is the best. I sold mine ( shh to someone on here) when I had a Mirena fitted, but have now had it removed and can't believe that I am back to having periods after none for 2.6 years!

I can go about three hours before emptying it, had to get up at 1.30 am and again at 5.30 to empty, but better than flooding the bed as usual.

I thought at nearly 49 they'd be over, but now, every 28 days without fail and it's back to flooding every hour. I'm off to Boots to buy another, it's easier with two, and they are a lot cheaper than when I first bought one!

I am also off to get some Dicynene, got some in Dubai last month as had a period 24 hours after arrival and no tampax to be found where we were - very far north. They work far better and more quickly than tranexamic acid ( cyklokapron)

It's so easy to walk into a pharmacy and buy whatever you want and it is so cheap too. I always make sure that `I buy branded, just to be safe.

After getting the hang of it, I'm a convert!

I had to cut the stem quite short, cuz I've got wonky anatomy, but it's brill!

Not for the squeamish, tho.

Orlando · 31/05/2006 11:47

ordered one online a couple of days ago.

There's a part of the oder where you have to say where you heard of the product...

I'm sure they'll soo be offering discounts to mners Grin

suzywong · 24/07/2006 10:59

I received mine in the post today

It is tiny, I am not convinced. Only time will tell.

Do you recommend a few dry runs to get the fit?

poppiesinaline · 24/07/2006 11:46

I love my mooncup I wasnt convinced at first either but they are truely fab. I did pop it in a couple of times before I needed to use it. The first month is a bit hit and miss - getting used to putting it in and taking it out and judging just when you need to empty it but believe me - after the 2nd month you will never look back

katzg · 24/07/2006 11:49

me but i'm thinking about it!

suzywong · 24/07/2006 11:52

OOoh I have never been so excited about feminine hygiene!!!!!!!!

PiccadillyCircus · 24/07/2006 12:04
