Well done your dd Rosa. Agree with franca, think playing in a team game does them so much good. And if she has a good and encouraging coach that is the most important thing. At ds's football match on Saturday (before we had all the drama of a sprained wrist) the coach of the opposing side was like a man possessed , screaming commands and criticism at his side. It worked in the sense they won but I didn't see any great enjoyment from the kids. At his age if they can just learn to enjoy playing sport that is more than enough for me without them being pushed to be the next Totti.
Violetta seems to be an obsession with all the little girls I know. The genius of Disney marketing once more.
Basta Bastia basta with this bloody rain.

Rosa · 11/02/2014 08:39

I think the rain might have stopped. Was due to be all day and then clearing tom...but it is getting brighter.
i have to clean but have done the supermarket shopping and am sitting with a coffee in caos before making a start.
We had a big a alta last night I was walking home in it and all streets were pretty much under.
Home master gios wrist is ok now ! Dd even wanted to go to training last night - she had the option not to !!!!!

We had the snow tonight!

Your DD sounds so hard working, Rosa, you must be very proud of her.

Franca, would Mr.Franca mind stalking DS1 and his girlfriend? They are going to Paris for Valentines Day, I cannot contain myself any longer!!! Grin

Francagoestohollywood · 12/02/2014 14:33

Oh, I can do some stalking Annu, I am going tomorrow and going back on Monday morning Grin. Dh will work on Friday but I can stalk a bit, in between some window shopping. Anyways, it will rain in Paris, while it's gorgeous here today, some sunshine at last!

I agree Gio. Luckily ds plays in a small team connected to the oratorio. They are committed, but there is not much pressure. I think the worst are some parents who behave terribly during their children matches. When ds played for a different team (they were actually very good and won more than 1 tournament) some parents were appalling. One of them would regularly insult his son, who wasn't older than 8 Shock

Dd is really into Violetta. I can't watch it for more than 2 minutes!

Rosa · 13/02/2014 13:13

Have a wonderful time in gay Pareeee and hope it doesn't rain.
I haven't even watched 2 minutes of Violetta but it really is the rage!!
Football is like that here as well. My SIL won't let my nipote play for the same reason as the parents are just too OTT. After yesterdays sun i have a massive pile of ironing....

Hello, my dears and Annunziata congratulations, how lovely! Details, details, details!!! And how romantic to be proposed in paris!

Rosa, happy to hear you had a nice birthday and that the dds made it a special day for you!

Paris was beautiful as per usual. Unfortunately on Friday I wasn't well at all, I couldn't eat and had a splitting headache and felt asleep at 9. But I was better on saturday and we managed to see the exhibition at the Palais de Tokyo and we even went to the cinema! I love going to the cinema in paris (and they have lots of movies in original language). Sunday it was sunny and lovely and we walked for miles. What a beautiful city! (and such beautiful shops, it's like being in the paese dei balocchi, so many bookshops, for instance!)

Ok, I am off to a less romantic supermarket now!

Annunziata · 19/02/2014 10:41

Grin Thank you! He is being very shy and saying only it was very private, but he said he was soooooo nervous! And the ring is lovely and sparkly Grin

Francagoestohollywood · 19/02/2014 11:34

he is sweet Smile

Rosa · 19/02/2014 21:29

Awww ...how sweet . today dh and i have been married 9 years .No romantic dinner out but we went to sushi wok for lunch!!!! And bought dd1 s birthday presents ( which is in a few weeks) . Also got her pagella and I am very proud - she has done very well and got a glowing report.

Bananagio · 20/02/2014 07:35

Ahh congrats to you as well Rosa. And well done your dd1!
Bloody rain back. Basta!

Francagoestohollywood · 20/02/2014 08:31

Happy anniversary Rosa! And well done dd1, she must be very proud of herself.

It's very grey here, and I have my turn at the elementari's library, but I can't wake up properly today. I need some sunshine.

Rosa · 20/02/2014 09:50

How stupid am I ? I believed the weather forecast so hung washing out. i was on the stairs going out when it started to rain so ran back brought it in and am now waiting for it to ease off before going out again. FGS i need a tumble drier but for that I need space . ARRGGGHH ? Franca sunshine when you see it let me know as hopefully we will get it a few hours later!!,

OP posts:
Annunziata · 20/02/2014 20:19

We need some sunshine too, it is so gloomy.

Happy anniversary Rosa! Have you got big plans for the 10th?

Francagoestohollywood · 24/02/2014 08:03

Awwwww, this weekend I met my nieces, adorable twin girls! So happy about all these new babies (and happy to report I am not broody at all Grin)

I hope you all had a nice weekend, we even had lots of sunshine here, with mild temperatures, hurrah!

Rosa · 24/02/2014 17:47

Horrible here saturday Sunday was lovely, sunny but so manic. We used back streets to get everywhere - normally it is the 2nd weekend in Carnival thats busy papers are saying 100/130000 people came to the city for Carnival. I know they shut streets and stopped people crossing the main bridge in . Euuuukk Mind you normally we escape for some of it . Not this year. Last year we were in Fuerteventura !!
Twin girls how lovely . Great that you can have cuddles and then hand them back ! Am am still semi broody ( or its hormones)at times but know its not right to have another....
Off to get what I hope is a dry bucato in !

OP posts:
Annunziata · 24/02/2014 21:20

What lovely news, twins!! Oh I can't imagine having two newborns, but twice the lovely cuddles too!

It is still raining Hmm

Bananagio · 25/02/2014 22:16

Oh twins how lovely! Lots of cuddles and none of the stresses for you Zia Franca.
Lovely and sunny here (smile)
Commenti sul Renzi??

Rosa · 26/02/2014 06:14

Renzi - talks alot , very italian I loose track half way through his discorsi and think about what I am cooking for dinner.

OP posts:
Francagoestohollywood · 26/02/2014 07:49

Thanks! And yesterday I spent the morning with my gorgeous nephew, so I am really enjoying being a zia.

Renzi. I really enjoyed his discorso. He is never been prime minister, so we'll see if he manages to accomplish some of the things he has talked about, at least the most important. Of course the maggioranza is what it is, I am hoping he is really able to do stuff without compromising too much with the right.
I think Renzi has been very disloyal with Bersani, and this is why I can't trust him 100%. But I am hopeful. I think the alternatives are much more incompetent than he is.

Bananagio · 26/02/2014 08:00

Same here Franca. I can't trust him but I choose to hope because I am so desperate to see something positive come out of Italian politics! Letta looked like he wanted to kill him the other day when he had to shake his hand.
Thinking about a couple of days fuori Roma when my parents are over at Easter. toying between Umbria and Puglia.
