Named by FoundInTranslation, started in honour of Greensleeves :)

Join up and we can sob, moan endlessly and get furious together!

I'll start off eh, to cut a long story short my parents are insane my mum is an alcoholic, although unfortunatley alcohol has this way of setting her off and making her completely paranoid and very abusive...

my Dad's now an alcoholic too, but he stopped talking to me when I was eight, never got an explanation (he's also a pyromaniac with scary fetishes!!)

Well, i wont moan much about my mum - she did a fab thing for me today when i rather stupidly locked myself out of the house.

Generally speaking she has a heart of gold. She just happens to think the whole world both revolves around her AND works against her all at the same time. Rather exhausting really.

She really is an OUP, and i a SOUP. If only for the fact that she refers to a certain body part of hers as "pussy".

My friends were polite and described my parent as eccentric. Which apparently now is quite a cool thing to be

fastasleep · 24/04/2006 22:51

Oh god VVV I blush and cough when mum says 'oh look DS a pussy cat' I couldn't handle her calling her foof that!!!

Just realised I have to do an intro...where to start

My mum is a pita. She is always the victim but never responsible. 2yrs ago I started to suffer depression severly after Ds was born due to the fact that my stepdad abused me as a child and was/still is married to my mum. I disclosed all this thinking it would help but instead my mum told me she could no longer see me or ds. She is also a alcoholic but would never say it and the bitchiest person I know. She also told me my dad was dead and took me to a funeral when I was 12 saying it was his. A month before I was getting married she got drunk and said that was just to shut me up cos I was asking too many questions.

Sigh thats just the edge of the knife so to speak.

Step father= sexual abuser smarmy arse

Father..who knows!! But apparently he is an arse and judging by the relationships my mum keeps somehow I am not surprised!

Nemo1977 · 24/04/2006 23:05

look shes soo bad she killed the threadGrin

fastasleep · 24/04/2006 23:05

Oh thats dreadful nemo Shock

My mum isnt like yours, gosh i feel a fraud.

Although im content with varying degrees and types of unhingedness.

My mum bought my DD a dope smoking, rastafarian, barry white singing, dancing doll as present once. DD was 2 at the time. She still doesnt see the problem with it....

fastasleep · 24/04/2006 23:22

Which song was it out of curiosity? Lyrics please!!

OP posts:
Greensleeves · 24/04/2006 23:28

VVVQV your mother sounds a bit like my MIL.Grin She's a crazed ornery old bat who inhabits a planet all her own, but she doesn't actually MEAN any harm. I find her antics a damn sight more amusing now she doesn't actually have any power over our lives.

She did tell ds1 the kitchen cupboards might bite him though Grin I take pleasure in telling him in a Very Loud Voice that Granny is getting a bit old and has some funny ideas....

VeniVidiVickiQV · 24/04/2006 23:33

LOL GS! My mum has done similar about ants lol.

The lyrics were "do do do do Im just a looooooooove machine.....do do do " etc

fastasleep · 24/04/2006 23:34

jamsam · 25/04/2006 10:19

well i lost my seriously odd dad about 6 weeks ago and now mum has stepped up to join in with the unhinged abd bonkers crowd. she spent two hours yeaterdy telling my ds1 why i wouldnt make a good wife.( idont even have a boyfriend and ds1 is only 6)

foxinsocks · 25/04/2006 10:19

oh dear, these are all so sad.

No fastasleep, I don't remember the incident. Apparently she (my mum's sister) got eclampsia when she gave birth to her son so had a lot of neurological problems. Although the doctors never picked up the aneurysm before it burst, apparently it fit with a lot of symptoms she had been suffering.

I can remember my mum's reaction and for years afterwards, she spent most of her time in tears (and I think possibly, this was the start of her mental health problems).

Have any of you gone on to have therapy? I haven't but have always wondered whether I should.

spacecadet · 25/04/2006 10:22

jamsam-thats awfulShock

tyedye · 25/04/2006 10:23
