Has anyone got any practical advice i have a real problem in sorting things out. I want to de-junk. Everytime i go to open a draw to clear it out i see a memory of my x and shut it, i can't face the problem at all. I want to sort things out but there are to many poems, or notes or tickets anything really. I have tried to tackle this problem every month now, thinking i'll be ready next time i try. I never get passed the first few things.
I also haven't slept in my bedroom since he left, i don't even go in it. Any advice to do it once and for all without getting in a mess?????
Thanks i know i'm always asking questions, but who can answer them as well as you lot, creep creep

FF - I divorced from my first husband 10 years ago and do understand how you are feeling. The reasons sound similar to yours. We had no children though, although I now have two with DH.

What I did re clearing the stuff out was to fill binliners with it all - literally just threw it all in, didn't read it.

Wept buckets, drank buckets didn't even try to keep it together. I think you just accept after a while that there will be awful days going through the process of divorcing and let yourself feel as you feel.

I kept a diary which I reread not that long ago (the first time since I wrote it) it was really harrowing. I don't remember it as being as bad as it obviously was! Maybe a bit like childbirth but without the baby at the end of it!

Go go go, you're doing really well! And I'm having a glass of Chablis with you!

Festivefly · 14/01/2004 20:23

jmg this is my diary, not that i can ever read it again it probably gets wiped after a while. Shame really! Thanks Again everyone for your support.
Well i have been to Ikea and for the last two hours have transformed my bedroom. Moved the furniture round, new duvet, rug, bedside table! I have filled it with candles soft lights and my favourite books. I love it, not only does it help me forget about him being in there, it also is a tranquil, relaxing part of the house now. My peace haven
(and i got treated to the things!)

Excellent! FF, I've not posted to you on this thread before because I've had no advice to give, just a ton of sympathy, but I'm really glad to hear you're getting yourself back together.
Enjoy your new room!

Festivefly · 14/01/2004 20:30

Your new room sounds lovely, fly lady

I love my bedroom. I lounge about in it reading books and watching TV and all the girly things, hair and nails, you know. It is my haven from the world of children.

You are coming along a treat.
