OK I am dim, but what do you do with fabric conditioner?

Have bought some Fairy fabric conditioner - never used it before (inspired by nursery washing DS's pooed-on trousers and they came back all soft! not crispy like my washing!)

The instructions just say put a capful in the drawer. When? At the start of a normal wash? I put the tablets in the drawer - does it go in with them? Or in the other drawer?

Thanks

I never used to use it

I thought it was a con

I was grossly mistaken

I love fabric conditioner!! The softness! The smell!

In my drawer theres a hole for pre wash, a main one where the powder/tablets go then a smaller one for fabric conditioner (sometimes has a little flower symbol). Pour capful in there when you put tablets in and wait to be amazed!

ooh the thought of clothes with no fabric conditioner [scratchy emoticon] makes ironing easier too! Grin

Twinkie1 · 19/04/2006 21:39

Just don't use it on towels or tea towels it reduces their absorbancy!!! (Very techy to do with coating fibres etc so won't bore you anymore!!)

JoolsToo · 19/04/2006 21:39

ooh no - I like a rough towel Grin

Twinkie1 · 19/04/2006 21:45

You would wouldn't you!!! Wink

snowleopard · 19/04/2006 21:52

OK so no soft towels - anything else I should know? This is a whole new world for me. Is Fairy even a good choice... am I missing out on some super fabby brand?

also dont use on nappies!

some random things (like my sailing cot which has a fleece inside) says DONT use with fab cond.

Feistybird · 19/04/2006 22:10

oh yes, I love a rough towel too, one that's been dried on the line is best.

snowleopard · 19/04/2006 22:11

wtf is a sailing cot?

snowleopard don't be sucked in!!! you'll be buying all plug-in airfresheners and disposable toilet brushes next!

disposable income is for whisky!!

expatinscotland · 19/04/2006 22:23

i HATE rough towels. like hard, cheap toilet paper. my arse deserves better treatment.

i'm thinking of keeping the fecking dryer just so i can have soft towels and sheets again.

Twinkie1 · 19/04/2006 22:29

I even buy the scented things you hang inside your loo roll but smells nice when you having a poo!! (and glade whisps and disposable toilet brushes and the air freshner things they have in public loos that scent the air every so often - DP is terribly embarrassed but I tell him we need this stuff!!!)

expatinscotland · 19/04/2006 22:30

i love the smell of comfort pure - the one w/the baby pictured on it. i get the concentrated stuff.

love it!

Cappucino · 19/04/2006 22:32

twinkie1 i despair...

snowleopard · 19/04/2006 22:41

Oh nooo Cappucino, I don't do air fresheners - don't like them, the smell just makes me think I can smell poo and farts even if I can't.

It was the softness of DS's trousers that got me rather than the smell, though I await lovely-smelling washing with anticipation (though IMO they get a nice smell from drying in the garden).

In fact I now feel like a bad mother for making DS wear such crispy trousers all this time Blush

bad mother... crispy trousers...

no. no it's not working for me.

'bad mother... beat with a stick' yes
'bad mother... forget to feed' also
