If You Were 21 Months, Where Would You Have Hidden The Car Keys

I was meant to meet a friend at 11am but DD has hidden my keys and I cannot find them anywhere. Any fresh ideas? I have looked in, on, under and behind everything I think.

Have been stuck in as had swapped car seats round (got DHs car and mine having MOT) so DHs car unlocked outside. Was going to get a taxi but could not leave the car unlocked as on main road.

Today has been a total waste of time!

Still no keys!

Had a load of kids round earlier and they emptied all the toys out and when I put them away, still no keys.

I have no idea what she has done with them!

did you check the car itself?

dolally · 13/04/2006 21:31

in your handbag?

WestCountryLass · 13/04/2006 21:51

Yep, well DH had my car as it was being MOTed, I put carseats in his car and came inside with keys, she was fiddling with them in door lock and I went upstairs, when I came down she had gone in kitchen and keys not to be seen since.

It is a mystery!

PMSL at this thread! Am going to bookmark it for use if ds ever tries any of this...

Have the keys been found yet? Grin

MadameDeMars · 16/04/2006 16:07

I was thinking... if you organise an Easter Egg hunt, I bet the keys turn up lol

SparklyGothKat · 16/04/2006 16:15

do you have a letter box with 2 flaps, one the inside and one on the outside? Look inside, she might have hid them there.

snafu · 16/04/2006 17:26

Yup, inside the letterbox is where I look for keys, phone, etc these days, since a few weeks ago the postman fished out the watch I'd been searching for all weekend Grin

A few years ago we were visiting my MIL who lives in Spain.DH was going out to hire a car but couldn't find his drivers licence,we knew we'd brought it,I'd put it in a draw in our bedroom.
Gave up in the end and used MIL's car.A few days later MIL gets her cylinder vaccum out of it's box and finds DL.
Crawl around on your hands and knees,it gives you a whole new perspective.

Are you sure they are not under a sofa? Ds1 'lost' my keys when he was a toddler. We turned teh house upside down and in the end forked out over £200 for replacements. The originals turned up under the sofa in the morning when we came to decorate about a year later! I'm sure we looked under there to start with!

GDG · 16/04/2006 17:37

morning room I should say!

jalopy · 16/04/2006 18:35

Down radiator?

Very amusing thread title, sitting here chuckling quietly. Have no idea where your keys might be, but has reminded me of a childhood friend's dilemma. His tooth fell out and so his mum told him to put it somewhere safe. So he put it in his brother's ear.

WestCountryLass · 16/04/2006 21:01

I can finally report that the keys have turned up and none of you will have guessed where.....

She posted them through my next door neighbours letterbox!!!!!

When I went out to car and put the car seats in I left the door ajar as was loading picnic stuff and buggy etc in when realised moby was missing. Ran upstairs to call my friend as had no phone and wanted to confirm when and where we were meeting and she must have nipped next door (our front doors are right next to each other) and psoted the keys.

The neighbours were away so I had no idea until they got home today.

Thanks everyone for suggestions!

I'm glad they turned up eventually! I was beginning to think you would never see those keys again!

GDG · 16/04/2006 22:10

MrsBadger · 16/04/2006 22:11
