yup, but have no idea of how to get there.

OP posts:
Mummycan · 12/04/2006 11:03

Take them to Nottcutts Garden centre - thay can have a look at the plants and they have some animals for them to look at.

Clarence Park?

Verulamium Park?

Moor Mill near Radlett - it's a pub but they have a huge outdoor area - a small playground - take football or a skipping rope - there are usually lots of other kids there as well.

Good luck
x

We took our kids to \link{http://www.aboutbritain.com/AldenhamCountryPark.htm\Aldenham Country Park} last weekend.

Admission free and a £4 charge for car parking. Lovely walks (on level ground) on paths that are easy to negotiate with a pushchair, Hundred Acre Wood with little houses of Winnie the Pooh characters, a bridge to play Pooh Sticks, a big reservoir with wild birds and yachts to watch, and farm animals to see and pet. Also play equipment and a snack bar.

anorak · 12/04/2006 11:08

Oh yes, we go to Moor Mill loads, can walk there from my house. It's lovely, but the food and drink is expensive.

suzywong · 12/04/2006 11:08

Oh yes Paradise Park is good for a day and definitely buggy friendly

Mummycan · 12/04/2006 11:10

Is'nt there an off-shoot of the natural history museum in Tring?
I think my mum took my ds1(6) and dd(4) there and they loved it, its free aswell i think, hth

misdee · 12/04/2006 11:17

oh, i just remembered, Mill green mill and museum.

OP posts:
Mummycan · 12/04/2006 11:19

Yes there is - but there is an upstairs so not sure how good with a buggy but the older ones would probably like it.

Also there is a pub in Tyttenhanger called The Plough - they have an outside area but you will have to keep an eye on the younger ones as it is very east yo get into the car park and then on to the road.

misdee · 12/04/2006 11:20

i can carry dd3 upstairs.

mummycan are you near me? am in welwyn garden city.

misdee, Herts is heaving with places to go and things to do!

I do the Herts listings for \link{http://www.primarytimes.net/main.asp\Primary Times} - pick Herts from the drop-down box, lots of indoor and outdoor things to do.

eg at Aldenham Country Park today: Easter Bunny Hunt. Every year the Easter Bunny escapes from the Park with some of his friends into 100 Aker Wood. Can you help us spot them all? Paper and pens provided. All correct entry sheets will be put into a draw and one winner will receive a special Easter Prize. Start from the entrance to 100 Aker Wood at the far end of the car park. 2pm-4pm. Tel: 0208 953 9602

ambercat, the Natural History museum is the Walter Rothschild - they have lots of activities there in the school holidays.

misdee · 12/04/2006 11:28

Janh · 12/04/2006 11:33

misdee · 12/04/2006 11:36

OP posts:
Janh · 12/04/2006 11:36

\link{http://www.letchworthgc.com/placestovisit/greatforkids/standalonefarm.html\Standalone Farm} at Letchworth - would cost £10.60 to get you all in there - any use?

Janh · 12/04/2006 11:40

\link{http://www.langleyburyfarm.org/\Langleybury Children's Farm} at Kings Langley. £6 for all of you there (assuming dd3 would be free).

They're all a long way from Welwyn though, aren't they?

Hope you all have a nice time at the garden centre anyway Smile

Mummycan · 12/04/2006 12:31

Misdee - sorry I missed your post earlier - just been doing lunch for dd and friend - I am in St Albans so not too far

anorak · 12/04/2006 12:56

misdee it's easy to get to Aldenham country park.

M25, M1 south. Leave M1 at jct 5, take the first non-motorway exit (Harrow signposted) and keep going straight on for 2 - 3 miles after which there are signposts for the park.
