If you had the chance to go to either Miami or Vegas which would you choose?

and why?

We have the opportunity to go to either place this summer with ds and I'll be 4 and a half months pg. I'm not well travelled and neither is dh in America. Online reviews are mixed so I thought I'd ask here.

Wouldn't be bothered as I would love to visit anywhere in America, have always said I would love to emigrate there.

I've got to run, have to take my DD to get a formal white dress for her cotillion spring fling dance....this is the last dance of the year, thank god.

HMC I agree about people's viewpoints about Las Vegas if they haven't been

Before we went we weren't sure of what it would be like just hearing rummours etc.

San Fran wasn't on the list but perhaps is a possiblilty. Eeeeek I have until Monday to decide. I just wonder if perhaps the LV trip would be too long. Does anyone remember the flight duration? (direct)

We went as part of a round the world trip and it was near the end so about 3 months to get there and czame home via Toronto so about 1 week

But when we flew to los angeles last year that was about 10 ++ hours and it isn't as far as that

Virgin have flights there for £344

went to Miami when I was 6 months pg with DS1 - nothing to write home about to be honest. There are better beaches in Florida

went to Las Vegas when I was 3 months pg with DS2 - fantastic (apart from having DS1 in tow!!!!) - helicopter ride over grand canyon was great. Was in Las Vegas for a week & didn't put so much as a dime in a slot machine as there are signs that forbid you parking your stroller in the gambling area (all though it is the one throughfare to the pool etc)

So I would recommend Las Vegas as it won't be the same with kids (assuming you haven't any already)

sorry just seen you have DS - who is 2 - my Ds was 1 when we went to Las Vegas & the problems we encountered would be the same for the whole of the USA - they don't like kids/babies in bars in the evening. But it is ok in restaurants. So we just went out for a meal & then visited the free shows at the hotels eg Bellagio fountains etc - while DS 1 slept in his buggy.

During the day we mainly sat round the pool at the Luxor & they had excellent shaded areas for us to take turns in sitting with DS1.

They gave us a brand new travel cot for the room and helped us with anything we needed but the time change was difficult. When Ds woke up at 2am wide awake we took it in turns going to the 24 hr hotel cafe until his body clock adjusted.

To be honest you will have this in florida - just not so early. But a beach holiday in Miami might be a lot easier with DS.

Have decided on Vegas, what clinched it in the end was the possibility of one or two afternoons of babysitting. Our lovely friends are renting a villa out there about the sme time that we go so we're goign to hook up with them - they have promised to babysit for us so dh and i can have some us time

Turned out the flight times were the ame anyway.

Would love to bend your ear about things to do in Vegas some time-apart from get married by Elvis that is.
