hi izzirubi-u still doing some research into agencies for a website?? I would like to share my sisters exp. with ES if possible.

Also, somebody said yesterday or maybe day before said about agencies having lots of kids on books and habing too many....when my sisters lo was with ES they said they had about 800-900 kids on their books all together(inc book and site)& i questioned that was so high but their explanation was that from 0-17 years kids thats only an average of 40 odd kids per age range and then from the ages they have different skin colours, hair colours, eye colours, looks etc and areas they work in. My sister's lo's booker said that if an agency only had about 100-200 kids on their books, then they would have to turn down a lot of work, depending on how busy they must be, because if they only had about 300 kids all together they would have nowhere near enough kids for different things, which i think that although we didnt get on with ES, was good advice.

tigeryuan we were going to the audition for som, but after a lot of gossip about the distance you needed to live i emailed the casting director and she told me that us being an hour away would be to far for this production because they can't offer accomodation, but she invited dd to the mary poppins audition so just waiting for date to be confirmed.

who's little one was in the xfm pictures? sorry i forgot. there is a couple of pictures in this weeks heat magazine, don't know if it's of any interest to anyone but thought i'd mention it just incase it is one of the mum's net babies.

yackertyyack · 07/04/2006 11:12

ohhhhh perfumelady that was us!!! THANK YOU! Will have a look at lunchtime as have not seen them yet but knew they were around......hope the mary poppins thing comes off. There will be plenty more SOM auditions and hopefully the next won't be so chaotic!! Can't remember how old your DDs are but have they tried Billy Elliott???
MUMJANE: Thats sounds very true about the larger agencies esecially if the client has a specific look in mind surely the more kids he can get from one agency the better for him as its less hassle. We were at a casting recently and when we went for the shoot the photographer said that he had seen about 103 babies and was amazed that they had all looked so different!!!

mumjane · 07/04/2006 11:21

yackertyyack - yes, you are right....babies and all children of same age and even same hair colour and that can all look so different...!

izzyrubi · 07/04/2006 11:24

perfumelady >> it's yackerty's ds!

yackerty >> would be great if you could join us!

mumjane >> for the moment I'm supposed to get nice comments from people who had good experience with the agencies, there's someone else working on bad experiences, shall I pass your e-mail to her? Or do you want me to give you her e-mail?
Sorry if you already answered this before but what agency is your lo with and how old is she/he?

mumjane · 07/04/2006 11:29

izzy- my sister had her little one with ES. Can I just say that I think it is a very good idea to do a website stating hard facts about agencies and good advice, but maybe not a good idea i dont think to have people with good and people with bad experience as this doesnt say whether an agency is good or not if u know what i mean....

izzyrubi · 07/04/2006 11:39

mumjane >> I think the whole idea is to have honest information, it's too hard to find out about child modelling on the internet, apart from this forum there's very little out there... I'm not sure what is it going to be but the team is great, lots of parents that have kids with lots of different agencies, some work in the industry and etc. so it's just honest information based on personal experience from parents and to parents, we'll see how it will come out, it seems like a good idea but you never know!

beacon · 07/04/2006 11:51

Izzy >> Hi! Am I right in thinking your DD is the same age as my DS (15 months)? He's with B&B (7 weeks) and hasn't had anything yet - not even a casting. I know you've been really busy - what clients have you done jobs for / casting for? I'm just a bit surprised that DS got taken on by B&B so they must have thought he had potential and then absolutely nothing.

mumjane · 07/04/2006 11:52

beacon - 7 weeks is not that long at all! remember that the agency doesnt decide who works, their clients do so sometimes you can wait a few days, sometimes months...! fickle, i know!

beacon · 07/04/2006 11:54

Mums >>> I know I know, but when he was with Rascals he got two jobs in the 1st week of joining! So sort of naturally thought it would go the same way.

mumjane · 07/04/2006 11:58

beacon - just chill!! It should be fun, not a mission! If you get a casting/job, then great, if you dont, never mind....a lot of people get way too serious...!

mimi1uk · 07/04/2006 11:58

morning -all near afternoon now i know, just got back from the gym,, im worn out, hope everyones well and getting lots of jobs love me

izzyrubi · 07/04/2006 12:53

beacon >> I thought your ds went for the XFM casting? Maybe was someone else!
My dd has done Junior Mag and Asda and two castings last year before xmas and now she's doing this Nanny Wesbite job at the end of the month... that's basically all through agencies I think... she's done quite a few jobs through friends, for an American website, Fantasia, Bubblegum and we also did a tv advert for a furniture store (me and her!!).
We were gonna go with B&B and ended up going with IK instead but before that we were with BK for more than 9 months and had no castings or jobs at all, now you see Mimi hardly joined BK and had a casting so I think it depends on lots of things!
Why did you decide to leave Rascals?

izzyrubi · 07/04/2006 12:54

Mimi >> How are you today?

perfumelady · 07/04/2006 12:57

beacon how long were you with rascals? i would say give it a little more time b&b have agreat reputation so i'm sure something will come your way soon.

dd has been put forward for three potential jobs so just a waiting game now, oh and one of them is a commercial Shock

izzyrubi · 07/04/2006 12:59

Perfume >> do you know what are the jobs for?

perfumelady · 07/04/2006 13:02

the commercial is for disney and one is for burberry and the other is a mail order catalogue. just hope now that she has the look they are looking for, fingers crossed

izzyrubi · 07/04/2006 13:04

oh yes, sorry I completely forgot!!! Fingers crossed they will choose her, do you know when they will tell you?

mimi1uk · 07/04/2006 13:05

hi im fine today just doing boring housework,,, arrghhh no fun round here

yackertyyack · 07/04/2006 13:06

perfumelady...looked in heat and its not DS!! although its nice seeing some of the pics so thanks for letting me know. Fingers crossed your DD gets all 3 jobs!! Have you got one or two dd?s sorry can't rememeber!

Beacon....maybe its an age thing - my ds is nearly 14 months and we've been quiet, although suits me well whilst i am at work! I do tend to agree with mumjane....if the phone rings its a bonus Grin

tigeryuan · 07/04/2006 13:11

yacker - i was about to ask you who is your lo on the heat magz! they are so cool!!!

perfumelady - fingers crossed for you.

izzyrubi · 07/04/2006 13:13

yackertyyack · 07/04/2006 13:18
