Hi izzy .. job is for M&S .. first successful casting!!
I always seem to be on when it's quiet in here :S

fanny5 · 06/04/2006 19:26

hiya all

mythumbelinas > how long have you been with your agency and how many castings have you been on before getting this one?

cyan · 06/04/2006 19:55

hi izzy nevermind about the casting!

thumbs congrats on job for dd!

yes well our day began with an awful start. it took almost 2 hours to get to clapham, when it should have taken half that time, i think i had a touch of road rage by the time i got there as i got stuck behind every 20 mile an hour driver, stuck at every traffic light, and stuck at kew bridge, and bloody gunnersbury for half an hour a piece! my great idea of driving was not to be, and tbh i will almost certainly take the tube next time little man does anything!!! we got to place, and i assume ds has the job as they took the pics of him on a car, changed his top etc. i rang the agency after and they told me that he will get paid the minimum 2 hours for the job as they took pics etc. well put it this way easiest money ive ever seen anyone make!!!

cyan · 06/04/2006 19:55

izzy going to email you now Smile

mesenfantsmaman · 06/04/2006 20:06

Had a deradful day too, job went fine this am, got there ok etc. Then went off to meet my sis who works in Blackfriars for lunch, neither of the girls ate much, themwemt off to meet my ai=unt who works in Victoria, anyway on tube to casting i spotted a spot, then another, then a few more, Madeline either has chickenpox or scabies (which is going round school) After casting on tube on way home Abigail spiked a temp, a kind lady who could see she was ill gave me some calpol sachets which helped but traipsing two poorly girls home was not fun. Now got to spend all tomorrow morning at the docs waiting for an appt to find out whats up, arghhhhhhhhhhh

Glad everyone elses shoots went okay, iz have emailed you x

strawberrymilkshake · 06/04/2006 20:12

mykids> gosh sounds like they are full of it. poor things. sorry your day didnt go too well. mine was dreadful to begin with, and although it was all over very quickly i felt a bit flat after!! have been so tired so this afternoon had a knap when we got back, feel better now but im going to have to keep off mnet tonight as i need to finish my feature by tomorrow aah [cyan bites her nails nervously] just hope i get it finished!!!

mythumbelinas · 06/04/2006 20:44

fanny5, been with them half yr now. Only had jobs, no castings last yr. This year dd2 had about 4 castings before getting this job, but she's had other jobs recently with no castings. Hope that's not confusing!
Thanks cyan .. so unsure about how to get to the location!! All the best for your feature :)
omg! myidsmum, what a day you had!!

izzyrubi · 06/04/2006 20:48

mythumbelinas · 06/04/2006 20:57

izzy - Have to get to Norwich, near the seaside. I've checked transportdirect.info and it seems i have to take 6am train from liverpool st with 2 changes inc a bus replacement service when i get there .. and still i won't arrive till 09:46am!
I could drive, but i'd be looking at approx 260 miles and 6 hr round trip .. !!

mimi1uk · 06/04/2006 21:04

mythumbelinas -hi there what agency u with, gosh u have a busy day set out for u !!

izzyrubi · 06/04/2006 21:07

Thumbs >> I checked on National Rail Enquiries and it says you can get a train from Liverpool St. straight to Norwich, the 06:25 will get there at 08:27 or at 7:00 gets there at 8:54 but there's no changing!

mythumbelinas · 06/04/2006 21:08

my kids are with kids london
Driving seems the better option (kids can then sleep undisturbed). Does anyone think if my sis (she's thinking about it) was to drive us there that it would be bad to have the extra entourage? I would love her help.
Booker did say it would be lovely to make a day of it and go seaside after. I'm just thinking i may be too tired to do that for the kids if i go on my own.

izzyrubi · 06/04/2006 21:12

thumbs >> whenever my dh can come along to jobs and castings he does and never had anyone complaining, honestly they have to understand how difficult it is, especially if you're travelling from so far... and in any case if you show up with her there what can they do? Grin

mimi1uk · 06/04/2006 21:14

mythumbelinas ah just the person, what can u say about kids london to me, i have just had the acceptance letter/booklet through for my son, i have just joined bk, and did not expect him to get accepted to kl now he has im not sure what to do?? how have u found them to be much work ,etc ?? any advice help would be much appreciateed

mimi1uk · 06/04/2006 21:20

i would definately take ur sister there is no way i could have done my first casting without my best friend with me to help it would have been unberable, do anything to make ur life easier thats what i say anyway,,, good luck

mythumbelinas · 06/04/2006 21:23

mimi, i heard about KL thru another mum who's kids (small boy and two teenage girls) had been with them a few yrs and only nice things to say about them. I have found them approachable, nice and friendly, and i do like them.
To be honest dd2 has been getting all the work so far .. dd1 has done a few castings, but yet to get a job. So, bit of a mixed experience so far.
hth in any way ..

mimi1uk · 06/04/2006 21:25

do u know how many babies/kids they have on there books,?? also have u been with them long, thanks for all ur help

fanny5 · 06/04/2006 21:25

mimi why are you looking to leave an agency that you have had a casting with and only just joined?

fanny5 · 06/04/2006 21:26

only loads of people are with loads of other agencies and can wait for castings etc and hear nothing for ages??

what agency are you with again?
