I read another thread which got me thinking about this.

I love reading bedtime stories, having little chats, just being silly and laughing a lot.

OP posts:

Child Benefit and convenient parking spaces

mumatuks · 20/03/2006 19:40

The way my youngest (9m) goes "mumumumum" whislt kicking his legs excitedly and how nobody else will do, excpet me!

cyan · 20/03/2006 19:40

my 1 year old ds giving me kisses, for me that makes it all worthwhile Smile sorry to be all cheesy!

mumatuks · 20/03/2006 19:41

LOL freshstart! I love the child benefit, can now afford that pair of trainers I've been after.... !Shock Grin

muma3 · 20/03/2006 19:44

walking down the street and thinking
"THEY ARE MINE, I MADE THEM , I BROUGHT THEM UP , AND I HAVE MADE THEM SO SPECIAL" every time i look at them i feel a sense of achievement . ever time they do something clever or funny i think to my self i made them like that i taught her that . and the best is when someone says "isnt she /they pretty " i always think yep they look like their mum Grin

like to make them laugh and see them giggle together . or when they cuddle up in bed together and i think i am so glad i gave them each other and im so glad they are mine.

i love to see them learn something new. they fasinate me with how quickly they can learn something. from 0-5 they are astounding .
absolutly amazing i think and it was/is all down to me Grin

muma3 · 20/03/2006 19:45

no that was cheesy BlushGrin

buffythenappyslayer · 20/03/2006 19:53

so many things!where do i start??
having no make up on,tatty hairdo, suitcases under your eyes, baby sick on your clothes and still have someone (the kids) say they love you!!
also having your teenagers tell you they love you even after youve told them off, grounded them and stopped their pocket money!
seeing your kids actually be nice to someone else and knowing that you have taught them respect for others!
but the totally best thing of all,is hearing your LO call you mummy!!

Thomcat · 20/03/2006 19:55

The best thing about being a mum is loving 2 little people so much I could burst. The feeling of not being able to get enough of them. Of loving them totally, utterly, unconditionaly. That's the best thing about being a mum for me. The love I feel for them, like all mums feel for their kids, is like nothing else in this whole world.

purplemonkeydishwasher · 20/03/2006 20:06

How I'm his favourite person in the whole world! IN fact I AM his whole world!
I love cuddles and giggles.
I love seeing all the new things he can do.
I love love love him sooooo much. Even though I spend all day every day with him, when someone comes over I don't want them to hold him cause I want to!!

Tortington · 20/03/2006 20:29

pride in a job - not badly done if i do say so myself.

son is on his way to college next year and he has a job lined up too. hes had a girlfriend for over 6 months!!

my elodest daughter has tis year discovered that after her first year of proving her popularity in secondary school - that actually she gets far more attention when she does well. consequently this year she has done brilliantly.

and my youngest son. who is an utter delight. helpful, loving charming and always with kind words amongth the benny hill fart humour.

i like them. i think thats the best thing i can say. i enjoy their company and their jokes, i love doing girly stuff - hair brushing and nailvarnish, i love that this evening i said to my eldest ds " dya need any condoms love, cos i'll pay for 'em"
"nah mam, s'alright ta, i'll tell ya wehn i do"

i love making jelly and angel delight with them. i love the way i have to say "mmmmmmmm" when ds2 brings home something horrible he's cooked at school. now he thinks he is masterchef

i love teh way ds2 opens the car door for me and says "hello georgious" when i come home from work sometimes.

they are nice people

helsy · 20/03/2006 20:30

Holding their hands - my favourite thing.

purpleturtle · 20/03/2006 20:32

My current fave is the report from dh on ds's visit to the barber last week. Ds is 3, and hates having his hair cut, has always squirmed to make it worse. Apparently, he sat stock still this time, tears streaming down his little face, crying "I want my mummy!".

I love that.

PaintedLady · 20/03/2006 20:34

kissing and smelling them and making them happy

Kidstrack2 · 20/03/2006 20:37

oh god far too many to list, i could have you here all night, at the moment, dd who is 2.9 tells everyone when we are out, "that mine mummy" its so cute, its as if when i speak to anyone she has to get her point across that i'm hers not anyone elses, she even tells off ds mine mummy mine mummy, she is just discovering all things round about her, so amazing

tiredemma · 20/03/2006 20:47

I love hearing Ds2 (age 2 1/2) climb out of his bed every morning and hearing his little feet padding along the hallway into our room, (past his daddy!) and round to my side of the bed, climb in next to me, stroke my face and give me the biggest smile ever- every morning.

and as dp is away for a few days- DS1 (5) has been the "man of the house" and has helped me so much, he is such a little star.

I know it sounds corny and vomity but, i cant imagine my life without them, i could munch on them forever!!

CountessDracula · 20/03/2006 20:51

All of the below!

Inappropriate earnestness gets me every time. DD gets very earnest and big eyed when explaining certain things to me (eg tonight, Mummy, do you know what (big eyes, nodding head complicitly) my poo made a noise like this (makes odd squeaking noise followed by a hiss)

Makes me laugh and cry all at once!

Holding little hands, pinching little bottoms, cuddling on the sofa/in bed

ahhh bliss!

biglips · 20/03/2006 20:52

i lluurrvveeee the kissies and the big hugs too - best thing in the world (dd-17m)

mandymac · 20/03/2006 20:53

At the moment it is the way DD (9 months) lays her head on my chest and cuddles me in the mornings. Grin It makes me feel so amazingly wanted and loved.

tiredemma · 20/03/2006 21:01

oh i love little comments aswell, for example on sunday i was sat tickling ds2 bum, he said " Dont play with my bum- its not a toy!!"

and while walking to school with ds1 he asked " what colour are seaboys?"

i said " whats a seaboy?"

Ds1 " its a bird isnt it? you get seagirls (seagulls)- what colour are seaboys then?"

TwoIfBySea · 20/03/2006 21:07

When dts1 (4) puts his arm round my neck when we are sitting together and touches my neck with his hand. It just melts me inside.

When dts2 shouts from the toilet "Mummmmeeeeeee, come and wipe my buuuummmmmm!" Because it makes me laugh and he knows it. He also likes to describe how many poos there were and if they were big or not!

When I go into their room at night to tuck them in as I go to bed. Watching them sleep just calms my heart.

Nbg · 20/03/2006 21:09

DD has just started to say Love you mummy when I take her to bed.

Lovely.

quelsouci · 20/03/2006 21:09

The feeling of loving unconditionally.

jac34 · 20/03/2006 21:10

I agree it's the cuddles,I have 7yo boys and I'm starting to wonder how long the cuddles will go on forSad

Blandmum · 20/03/2006 21:15

The cuddles. Watching them climb and run and thinking 'Fuck me, I made them!'

When they were little wtaching them discover things like shaddows for the first time.

The smiles and giggles.

Listening to dd read and laughing at the funny bits with her.

Answering the questions, even the 'Why is the sky blue?' type ones

blueteddy · 20/03/2006 21:30

When DS1 makes me little cards with hearts on that say I love you Mummy.
The cuddles & times they say "I love you"
Watching them learn new things & devlop their own individual little personalities.
