I have been on MN long enough to go into the old timers board. But who are the new timers, who keeps this forum going??

Lets face it, Mumsnet would'nt be going anymore without the 'new timers'.

So I for one would like to start a 'New Timers' Thread. You have to have been on here more than 6 months to join.

Perhaps someone else would like to do the other.....Under 6 months

I was about to say, you can't have been around long Tatties, if you don't know who Lavender is/was, but then I read your post! Of course you won't know Lav. She was, shall we say, a very distinctive poster, with a possible personality disorder IMO.

spacecadet · 21/02/2006 18:51

arrghhh, dont metion the lav word!!!

DumbledoresGirl · 21/02/2006 18:52

CD - I changed because certain people kept saying I was a victim with a name like Lonelymum, or I made them feel sad. I have actually been DG a few times before - when I felt like a bit of anonymity or wanted to see if I would be treated any differently if I had a different name.

But as I said before, I will still use Lonelymum from time to time if I feel like it.

DumbledoresGirl · 21/02/2006 18:54

Incidentally, I hate the name changing too. I just can't picture who MartianBishop is supposed to be and I have forgotten LTH's old name and I miss the name HandleMeCarefully. Silly things like that.

intergalacticwalrus · 21/02/2006 18:57

martianbishop is happymerryberries,(IIRC) as we changed our names after a daft scientology thread.

Tatties · 21/02/2006 18:58

Sorry! I didn't know...

zippitippitoes · 21/02/2006 18:58

tbh I am not very good at rmembering people except a few who stick in my mkind

DumbledoresGirl · 21/02/2006 18:58

Well you are another one Intergalactic. What was wrong with Moozoboozo or whatever you were before? (just being cliquey again!)

DumbledoresGirl · 21/02/2006 18:59

What did HandleMeCarefully become then?

zippitippitoes · 21/02/2006 19:00

a lot of people have changed recnetly which makes it harder i think i rmember for a nao secodn

intergalacticwalrus · 21/02/2006 19:01

Well, just fancied a change, m'dear. However, said name change propmted lots of people to accuse me of trolling.

ponygirl · 21/02/2006 19:01

2 and a bit years.

intergalacticwalrus · 21/02/2006 19:02

btw, I have been here since last feb, when I joined as cellogirl.

flibertygibbet · 21/02/2006 19:02

I've been lurking with the occasional post since Aug '04 (didn't realise it had been so long ). The thing is, I rarely have anything to say that someone else doesn't say better!

DumbledoresGirl · 21/02/2006 19:03

Actually intergalactic, your name change is one of the few that I do remember, perhaps because we had a few stabs at a meet up that never happened.

intergalacticwalrus · 21/02/2006 19:04

Yes, shall we try to meet again, only to fail parlously?

flibertygibbet · 21/02/2006 19:08

Ok, I just realised it was Aug '05 (not '04) so not shocked anymore - now can you see why I don't post often?!

Mhamai · 21/02/2006 19:11

I'll be one yr in April, my true initiation was when I got carried away celebrating my first yr of college, got rip roaring drunk, came on here and made a right t*t of myself though I made quite a few laugh at the time.

intergalacticwalrus · 21/02/2006 19:14

Mhami, I was only thinking about that the other day. I pmsl when I read it! Dont feel ashamed! We've all got pissed and made a tit out of ourselves.

Mhamai · 21/02/2006 19:16

Wow! it was said at the tme that it would go down as an Mn classic, must be true!

DumbledoresGirl · 21/02/2006 19:19

I vaguely remember that too Mhamai, but I was going to say the same as intergalactic: ie that loads of people have done that so don't worry about it.

My lowest point was having to contact Mumsnet and ask them to delete a thread I started which frightened loads of people winto thiking I was suicidal. It was actually a joke about how I kept killing threads but the title was something like "I am going to kill myself next" and people believed it!

Mhamai · 21/02/2006 19:22

ooops I wouldn't mind but the more certain posters got wound up the worse I got, I was accused of being a troll, sure I was so pi**ed I kept spelling it trool, ah the memories!

Gloworm · 21/02/2006 19:25

almost 2 years for me.

(mhamai, you wouldn't be irish by any chance? )

Mhamai · 21/02/2006 19:40

Now would that be because of the reference to the drink or the name glowworm?

Gloworm · 21/02/2006 19:44

...and the way you used the word "sure"...I can almost hear the accent!

I'm from Donegal, where are you from?
