I thought i should write this down, so i can look back and remember. Also for any one else that is thinking about taking them.
For a start i have been told that they take two weeks to kick in. I had one at 4 and have felt mashed since 6, it must be that you feel more in control after two weeks. They have effected me already i feel stoned.

What a b***d your ex is. Tell him nothing in future. This man is a waste of space, you have to stop caring what he says or does and concentrate on protecting yourself and kids.

One day you will be strong and in control of all this, you will blossom. He will still be a B***d.

Strive for that situation, and sod everything else.

Kizzie, sorry I've been so long in replying. My bad reaction was to Prozac. After 2 weeks I went to see my GP again and she switched me to Cipramil. The only side effect I have had so far is loss of libido . I kept expecting to wake up one morning and feel great but it doesn't work like that for me. It helps me 'cope' but I still feel crap sometimes. I was a super-confident person before nut now my confidence is completely shot. I am due to start cognitive behavioural therapy on that soon.

Dadslib, I was on 60mg of Cipramil for about a year and have just reduced this to 40mg with relatively few problems. I love to think that one day I'll be down to 20mg a day and wish there was something practical I could do to speed things along. I'm not a very patient person!

Right i'm back again and feel upset but i would rather go through it naturally. I felt like i was loosing my sense of humour and everything, its taken me this long to come out of what ever i was in, and its nice to be home. Scarey two days

Forestfly, don't be hard on yourself, I agree with your gp that you have had a lot of sh*t recently and need to just work through it at your own pace, I think you have done the right thing to stop taking the ads - I can recommend St Johns Wort to help give you a lift. Some people on mumsnet think its as strong as Prozac but I would dispute that - I took it for 6 months and swear that it helped - absolutely NO side effects (although it does interact with some drugs, like the pill, so you should check that) and I stopped taking it with absolutely no problems - it does take a good 6 weeks to take effect though so its not a quick fix.

However, you may want to not bother with anything, in which case I don't know whether your gp could recommmend you for counselling to help you deal with the horrible things that your ex has said to you.

Look after yourself, x E
