Where did you sit/stand?
Were you ok?
Did you have to let the venue know?

I'll be 6 months when I go to see the delightful Take That but I have this awful feeling that someones going to have something to say about it. Don't know why!

No, but I do remember going to the cinema the day before my due date with DD1 (she was four days late) - and I remember thinking that I was actually going to give birth in the cinema when I stood up after 2 and a 1/2 hours - Whooooooo!!

lumpkin · 27/01/2006 11:23

Went to see Metallica when I was only 5 weeks. Fainted outside due to heat - everyone thought I was drunk! My son, now 16 months, bangs his head when he hears them though - thats my boy!!

MrsE · 27/01/2006 11:38

I went to see Pet Shop Boys when I was 7.5months pregnant at the Savoy (yes it was a while ago ). I didn't tell them at the time but when I got there they made some people swap seats so I could have the end aisle one. They even brought me some water just in case! My DD kicked the whole way through and is now a huge fan.

I worked on festivals, concerts and shows till I was 33wk pg. Was OK, except bump was starting to get in the way and I couldn't easily reach all the knobs on the bigger sound desks! Oh and had to change the operating position for one show as I wouldn't fit in the normal one.
I'm a lighting and sound technician, so my experience at gigs is not the normal punter experience. From a venue point of view, no need to tell them UNLESS you want a seat at an all standing gig. many venues can arrange this IF requested in advance, however there may only be a very limited number of seats available so asking in advance is esential.
Opion is split on wheather the volume levels at a typical "rock/pop" gig are too high for an unborn. Your call, personally I'd stay away from the speaker stacks , you can wear ear plugs your unborn can't. You might get kicked in the ribs quite hard if your unborn has strong feelinga bout music, I know mine does, he like the levelers and boogies along to certain tracks. Its not very comfy.

I went to see Gary Numan (I know, I know...DH is a fan, what can I say...) when I was about 5 months pregnant. No problems at all. We did have seats though, so I could sit down if I needed to.

ricky martin at about 7 months ... dd when wild and danced along with me!

doormat · 27/01/2006 12:21

I went to see my brother and his band, was very loud

went home early

Went to Glastonbury when seven weeks pregnant; found it hard going because I was in that nauseous stage, but did enjoy myself. Went to the V Festival when three months pregant and DH nearly got into a fight because he was being very protective of me when people pushed past. Also saw PJ Harvey at Somerset House. All three of these events involved lots of standing. Having to protect a bump does make it less enjoyable because you're on guard the whole time, but you still have fun. Depends on your energy levels.

When I was eight months pregnant I saw Bill Bailey, the comedian, who does a lot of techno-type songs in his set and plays the synthesiser or electric guitar as accompaniment. DD went made every time he started playing; bouncing about and kicking, then stopping as soon as the music did. It became very painful because I was hanging on for the show to end in order to go to the loo (didn't want to have to uproot half the row in order to get out of the very narrow seats), and DD was repeatedly dancing on my bladder. I was going "Oh God, not ANOTHER song, please!". At least she enoyed herself!

Tom Jones, Newcastle Arena, 7 months pregnant

Didn't throw my maternity knickers at him

McRobb · 27/01/2006 12:54

I saw Placebo at Brixton Academy at 7 months, just stood at the back but it was fine.

Littlefish · 27/01/2006 12:58

Saw Madness at about 7 months pregnant. We chose to get seats at the side rather than go down in the "crush" area - good thing too - the crush was really crushy!

wilbur · 27/01/2006 13:25

Saw Fatboy Slim at Fabric when I was 10 weeks preg with ds1. I stayed close to the air conditioning and far from the crush! Had a great time tho. Enjoy Take That!

4 months pregnant with dd1 and I went to see Madonna, 6 months pregnant and I went to see Robbie at Knebworth. I stayed at the back near the toilets with Robbie and it was fine. Ohhh, just read that and it reads like I was with Robbie near the toilets.... I wish!

FrumpyGrumpy · 27/01/2006 13:35

Saw Bryan Adams 2 nights before having dd - was pretty big but danced ALLLLL the way and loved every moment. Figured it would be quite fine to go into labour whilst out having a ball rather than sitting in waiting. Saw David Gray the week before that.

Preggers with Robbie Williams (ye, I wish) and Paul Weller (he's has a thing for pregnant women I see) and Marti Pellow when big with DTs. Every female in the toilet queue always encourages you to get to the front too!!

All good reports from here and all my kids are big music lovers .

Enjoy Take That and use your tummy to get you forward!

At 5 months - Whitesnake and got to meet the band. Did have a seated ticket but felt well enough to boogie on down near the front of the standing area.

At 3 days overdue - Rolling Stones. Seated again but did stand up to dance a little. Being so pregnant was great coz I didn't have to queue.

Again at 5 months Whitesnake second time round - didn't meet the band this time though

harpsichordenvy · 27/01/2006 13:51

yes! I went to see Queen with Paul ROgers last year when I was ?six months and stood up the whole time
the guy I went with bought dd2 a little concert t shirt saying We Will Rock You...
AND I went to a concert when I was in LABOUR but it was a classical concert at the hospital and I sat at the back

starlover · 27/01/2006 13:52

went to see the manic street preachers when i was 8 months pg.
had to be seated but it was fab.
ds was kicking a LOT though, was pretty loud... but seemed ok afterwards!

Coriander73 · 27/01/2006 14:18

I had tickets to see Madonna's last tour..a week later I find out I'm pregnant due the week before the concert! DH refuses to let me go so I sell tickets to a friend who then rings me during concert to share the experience...!! I was gutted..but given that it was late August, very hot & sticky...I suppose with hindsight I'm glad I didn't go. You wouldn't think lightening strikes twice but oh yes......booked tickets to see Robbie Williams at Wembley for 15th September this year.....only to discover a month after I'm pregnant & guess what....due the 15th!!!!

i want to go to download rock festival but will be too preggers for tents n mud n stuff. i went to see elton john in our local football ground in the summer. it was blistering hot and cramped little seats but they made certain allowances for me.

ShaysMummy · 27/01/2006 14:25

i was 8 months gone

sunnydelight · 27/01/2006 17:59

I went to see the Stranglers when very pregnant with DS1. He hated it! We were seated above the stacks and when they went ballistic so did he. He was wriggling so much I had to go out periodically to calm him down He's now 12 and very into playing the guitar so I reckon it didn't scar him for life.

heymammy · 27/01/2006 17:59

I went to see the Red Hot Chili Peppers when I was 7 months preg...and absolutely huuuuuge by the way.
I have to say no one batted an eyelid. I stood, but not too near the front and just made sure I had plenty to drink.
Baby kicked a lot and I was a bit gutted I couldn't jump around but I was damn sure I wasn't going to miss them!!
