I am about to make myself a housework routine

As this is too dull for words I would like to start with a full list of EVERY job that would possibly need to be done in the house including stuff that is done lots of times a day, daily, few times a week, weekly, monthly, every now and then etc etc

You get my drift

Would you help me get this definitive list together and add to it?

Copy the list and add to it then at the end of the thread I will have whole list together instead of having to pick from thread and make my own list

ok

Make beds

Oh, I do have a cat that needs fed, although I often leave that to DSs.

freshstart · 24/01/2006 18:06

LMB - your list has one flaw! I am an ironing lady so wouldnt make good business sense ;)

Need to get my list into some sort of format now

Thinking about scheduling everything into outlook

Some things on my list are due to me being a childminder ie playroom needs to be properly sorted all the time to keep the toys current and organised, floors cleaned very regularly for crawlers etc etc

Cleaning windows - I mean inside - window cleaner doesnt do that

freshstart · 24/01/2006 18:11

There are jobs on these lists that I didn't even know existed!

LeftOverTurkey · 24/01/2006 19:51

My son saw the iron at the age of 2 and said "What's that for mummy?"
Ditto for a friend's sone and the hoover.
TMI in this thread for my liking.

Is it 1950 all of a sudden? I'm with Blu. Not only did I not know some of these jobs existed (hoover the mattress!?) I have discovered you can survive to the age of 42 and raise children without ever doing them.

Aloha · 24/01/2006 22:38

People clean their front doors? Seriously?

freshstart · 24/01/2006 22:40

I clean my front door, but I wouldn't if it was only Jehovah's witnesses and avon ladies that saw it.

anorak · 25/01/2006 08:31

Have you read Marilyn French's 'The Women's Room'?

The main character has a card-index system with all her household chores listed on it and the frequency she has to fulfil her schedule.

Her husband leaves her anyway, and she moves on to live in a female commune where everyone shares the jobs and live very happily!

(I'm not suggesting you're doing this because you're trying to please your husband, btw!)

Bettikitten · 25/01/2006 19:19

Yaaaaawwwwwn at this thread!!!

I sorted my knicker drawer today, was amazed at how many "big knicks" I had accumulated over the years, they had to go and unfortunately haven't many left now.
