.....and if so what would you do with it?

Oh, you're all so much more imaginative and charitable than me - I just think it sounds scary

SoupDragon · 21/01/2006 16:03

I'd chuck you a tenner too Snafu

snafu · 21/01/2006 16:07

A tenner???? You've just won £100 million!

Tight-fisted, stingy old dragon, you'll be sorry, just see if you won't...

See? See?

cathyspam · 21/01/2006 16:12

yes, definitely! I would
Give some to immediate family of me and DH
Put some in trust for DS1 and DS2
Build our dream home
Give 300,000 to local village hall fund that they need for new hall
Travel accross america in a luxury motor home
Build a playzone type place in local town for kids with soft play for little ones and ten pin bowling etc and employ local people to run it.
Get a car that doesnt sound like a demented cat!
Invest some
Give some to various charities
DH would probably want to build a golf course!

PeachyClair · 21/01/2006 16:42

Yes.

buy a house that isn't rented with the constatnt possibility of landlord wanting to sell, let Dh make his little business enterprise full time and give up job he hates, buy a car each, holidays (we had a cruise for our honeymoon, Dh desperate for another).

Give loads to family. Would donate the interest each year to worthy causes (IIRC, on £85 million, that was £8K a day according to news). I would make grant giving my career.

Do anonymous giving things, like buying a baby incubator here, or saving a day centre here.

Not worry about how to pay heating bills, or have to call DH in sick coz they've underpaid him again and he's got no petrol money.

Blandmum · 21/01/2006 16:44

I asked because my dh always says that to win an ordinary jackpot would be too much and that we would be happier with the lesser payout, that would pay off bills etcbut leave our basic 'lifestyle' unchanged.

I'd love to be able to give loads away.

I wouldn't want to scare you with too much money Snafu

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 21/01/2006 16:46

DEfinately.

Pay off the debts
Buy a house that would be ours not the army's
Jessica and Rebecca would be set up for life
My dad would be free to do as he pleases with no debt or mortgage etc etc
My brother and SIL would get their own house and cars
I would get a people carrier and a weekend sporty type car
Employ a nanny
Holidays (something other than butlins)
Charity money would be for the National Association of Colitis and Chrons

Basically swap my crappy scrimping and scraping lifestyle for one of comfort.

PeachyClair · 21/01/2006 16:47

Oh, but first I would give my Dad a chunk. dad used to work EVERY day 12 hour shifts when I was a kid, to pay for a pension. Saved the maximum possible, company was bought by another Country pension fund closed. Wwent to another company, same thing over again. For 40 years pensions contributions he has... wait for it.... £2k in compensation coming . And as he is 61 and not in perfect health, no real way to change that now. He does work, but doesn't earn much now so can't really save.

I would do anything to help

Blandmum · 21/01/2006 16:48

and I love to rtake all my mates on a great holiday....buy a house in France thate they could all use etc

I'd like to use the money on education projects in the developing world...using intermediate technology that wouldn't rely on western intervention to fix etc. Local soutions to local loal problems etc

If one of us wins, I think we should buy Misdee a place near the hospital, whaddya think? Deal?

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 21/01/2006 16:48

oh and give MN a big chunck so they didnt have to worry about using advertising to pay their wages!

Blandmum · 21/01/2006 16:50

We could buy her a house , with its own heart unit, fully staffed, for the short term, which could be a rehab unit post op!

Deal

OP posts:
PeachyClair · 21/01/2006 16:51

Wouldn't that be fab

PeachyClair · 21/01/2006 16:53

When would I need to buy a ticket (don't normally), today or is it next week?

misdee · 21/01/2006 17:03

oi!!

if i won, i'd buy a large house/bungalow near the hospital, and after we no longer need it use will rent it out cheaply to relatives of those in harefield (10pounds a week type thing, all money to the hospital), as the accomadation on the grounds has hardly any family facilities, and its a nightmare and v v old.

Will also make sure i have a suitable home here, again a bungalow, 5 bedrooms, gym for peters rehab after transplant, sensory/physio room for dd2, and a huge kitchen (i dream of a kitchen which i can fit a table in lol)

i will also make sure the rest of the family are taken xcare off, 1m in trust for each of my neices and nephew, couple of million for my dd's, whack a load in the bank, pay off any mortages or new homes for our parents and siblings.

loads to charity.

PeachyClair · 21/01/2006 17:10

Misdee, do you lurk constantly waiting for a mention?

Bought a ticket online. £1.50. Peachy's non-gambling bones are shaking at the thought!!!!

misdee · 21/01/2006 17:11

no, i've only just got home in the last hour

meggmoo · 21/01/2006 17:13

Though I would'nt turn it down, I dont think there is any exitement in being able to have what you want, when you want it, when your saving for something, you look forward to it, and feel a sense of acheivement.

meggmoo · 21/01/2006 17:28

I agree with the two W's!

PrincessPeaHead · 21/01/2006 17:33
