I make a nice car air freshner w/dried lavender in an old pair of knee high tights. Put some lavender in one of the old knee highs. Shake lavender oil over the dried lavender. Place in car. Top up w/lavender oil when it looses effectiveness.

The other thing I use is one of those candy cane bubble bar slices from Lush. It scents the entire room I work in! Just pop one in a dish and pick off bits when you want to release more fragrance.

when I was pg with ds I was literally addicted to smell of lavender. used to greedily inhale from the little essential oil bottle for 20 mins at a time. v strange but yunny (then, not now.)

I used lots of lavender oil when I was pregnant. dh hated it! I use scented candles - make my own with essential oils so I can get the smell I like. What I like about them is that I put them in strategic places that I walk by (like the entrance to my bathroom) and just get a nice wiff as I go by. I don't tend to light them very often (dh says this is a chav thing to do, but who cares). Also hate artificial or strong smells - polishes and air freshners make me feel really sick.

Over Christmas I used cranberry scented oil from the Body Shop which was absolutely utterly delicious. Other than that, how about vanilla essence in a squirty thing or dabbed on a radiator? Sorry didn't read whole thread so hope I am not repeating ideas.

I know Pruni, wash your vest a bit more often you dirty mare, what have you been doing in it?

madmarchhare · 20/01/2006 22:15

Not lillies, those pink ones give me a vile headache.

m&s green fig is lovely, also body shop fig oil. or body shop ginger & grapefruit oil is delicious.
someone bought me a clove scented candle from next for christmas, that's v. nice.

quite often clean - worktops etc - by sprinkling lavender oil on them & working that in, leaves yum scent. you could use tea tree instead of lav, good smell if you're not into flowery? & also anti-bac etc.

Great tips here, good thread pruni - interesting point viz camomile and lavender, not really my favourites either, have a love/hate relationship with lavender, have to pick a leaf if I pass a plant, smell and then sort of wince!
