What exactly is so much cheaper about living in the country to justify the massive salary cut you have to take when you move?

Food, clothes, schools etc the same price surely. Plus masses of petrol so that is more. If you are moving to an area where the house prices are not dissimilar to London, I can't see where you make the saving.

Count Dracula and Prince Peahead (with his dd) relax on the terrace of the Draculas' beautiful new home, while inside CD and PPH drool over the mod cons in the kitchenette

Too poky, not enough bedrooms and only a courtyard garden. Smaller than my house now!

This house used to belong to the parents of someone I was at school with!

Was thinking of renting this just because it is soooo pretty and in a heavenly setting, but not enough beds

OP posts:
CountessDracula · 16/01/2006 13:36

this looks ok for renting, could walk to the station from it. Rather fuddy duddy decor in sitting room tho

CountessDracula · 16/01/2006 13:37

CD, think you need to take that train from Winchester to Waterloo one morning. I used to ride that and it was horrible... of course I wasn't getting onto fist class. But still...

Oh gosh, this sounds inevitable now. I guess I should just wish you luck. Hope you make the best of it.

CountessDracula · 16/01/2006 14:52

I have done it a number of times Uwila, when staying with my parents. I agree it is no fun at all but would only be 3 days a week.

Thanks xx

The company DH and I work for has recently been bought by HP so I guess we will go West at some point this year - Looking at houses in Datchet/Windsor but have no idea what life out there is really like (being a London Born and Bred gal).
