this thread is not dull, i'm actually finding it quite interesting. am not officially a sahm, but am on maternity leave and am lucky enough to be taking the full 12mths.

i've been a student, worked full time, worked full time with one dd at childminder/nursery, and been a sahm during maternity leave. out of all of this, being a sahm is definatley the hardest. at least at work, i had official breaks, a lunch time when i actually ate, and was not on call 24/7.

I only get up at 6.30 because it is the only 'window' in the day that I get to have a shower in peace ... children usually awake by then anyway but we can leave DD in her cot and DS knows he will be growled at or ignored if he asks for breakfast before then

I didn't mention my DD's tantrums Mercy ... I could bore you even more if you like

at all those whose kids wake up at 8.30 ... but then think "ha ha ha ... just you wait till they start school then you will wish they did wake up earlier!"

kitegirl · 13/01/2006 10:39

day is

6.30 get up
feed
change nappies
load and unload dishwasher
iron
do laundry
cook
clean
walk the dog
pay bills
play with ds
supermarket
iron
have nervous breakdown
7.30 ds bed
followed by mindnumbing telly or mn

in no particular order
repeat endlessly
