Hi you SAHMs out there! What's a typical day like for you?

OP posts:
PrincessPeaHead · 12/01/2006 23:10

this is the dullest thread I've ever read

I won't inflict my day on you all. It involves peeing a lot and braxton hicks-ing every 20 minutes

hunkermunker · 12/01/2006 23:11

PPH, snap!

Oh, but I eat gravel too

Mytwopenceworth · 12/01/2006 23:12

well of course we had it tough Hunker, try telling that to the young people of today......

ediemay · 12/01/2006 23:13

I am! You were lucky!

PrincessPeaHead · 12/01/2006 23:15

we should do a coordinated session. you do the braxtons, I'll do the hicks's...

my mw told me I should be drinking between 2-4l of water a day...???? full time bloody job trying to get that lot down I can tell you!

hunkermunker · 12/01/2006 23:16

Oh, they don't understand, M2PW. Sulphuric acid, I had for dinner today. In a cracked cup.

hunkermunker · 12/01/2006 23:16

Two to four litres of water a day?! Is she trying to flush the baby out?!

PrincessPeaHead · 12/01/2006 23:18

she says the reason I'm so crap at breastfeeding is because I'm so crap at drinking water (she's right abotu that, I can go for a whole day and realise I've only had a cup of coffee or two), so I need to get into training now so I'm nicely hydrated and used to drinknig properly when babe arrives....

Mytwopenceworth · 12/01/2006 23:19

To echo edie - you were lucky. A CUP?! All I get is a square of damp cloth. You don't know you're born.

hunkermunker · 12/01/2006 23:20

Don't think it necessarily follows about drinking water and breastfeeding (loads of women worldwide breastfeed without much in the way of water to drink) - but it's definitely good for you, so keep it up

She'll be telling you to eat lots of cake to produce good quality milk next...myth myth myth (but one of the nicer ones ).

hunkermunker · 12/01/2006 23:20

A cracked cup. Then I was cut in two with a breadknife.

Mytwopenceworth · 12/01/2006 23:21

pph - shame on you for the non-water drinking!! shame shame shame . You will also need to give your bladder time to get over the shock!!!! Will find you live on the loo for a bit!

PrincessPeaHead · 12/01/2006 23:22

I always have serious production issues, so we are going for a full scale assault. lots of fluids, fennel tea, serious latching tutorials (once it is here), etc etc etc...

I'm sure it will still be on the bottle within a fortnight. Ah well, I can but try!

hunkermunker · 12/01/2006 23:31

Sounds like you have the right attitude to it - good luck - we'll be doing it at a similar time too! When's your due date again? Mine's Saturday and nothing imminent yet!

PrincessPeaHead · 12/01/2006 23:37

mine is 21st.
prev babies have been 10, 9 and 8 days late so not expecting much action before 28th or 29th tbh...

boooooooooooo

you will def beat me!

MummyJules · 12/01/2006 23:38

Okay so I never have a normal day - every day is different but I shall recount my day today -

Went to sleep at 1.30 am after trying to do course work.
6.30 am - got woken up by DD, carried her into my bed where we had a cuddle/snooze.
7 am - Went downstairs and served breakfast, cleared up last nights dinner
7.30 - 8.30 - Sorted out washing, drying and ironing. Cleaned kitchen, tidied up sitting room and hoovered while dancing around to music with dd!. Opened post,
8.30 - 9.30 - went upstairs and made beds, sorted out yet more washing and had a bath/shower with DD and got dressed.
10 am - Friend came by with her little girl and baby and we went out for the day (went to a museum and a little shop and then to Pizza hut for a late lunch
4 pm - Came home and sorted out yet more washing, played with DD, made snack for dd
6 pm - Started bed routine- Brushed teeth, washed face, read a trillion stories and sang lots of songs, took about 10 mins to work out which tape DD specifically wanted to listen to
7 pm Cleaned and tidied up downstairs, put DP's tea in the oven and then came upstairs to bed to try and finish coursework only to be distracted by MN as usual!

PrincessPeaHead · 12/01/2006 23:38
