How many of us have our house on the market atm ?We were advised not to put ours on in December as it is so quiet but we wanted it out of the way and are now hoping to sell in the New Year Is the market still really slow?

OP posts:
Glitterygook · 30/12/2005 17:36

You want to go on that HPC forum - the obsession is incredible, as is the arrogance (although one poster was supportive of my house sale plight!). A whole forum dedicated to the houseprice 'crash'.

Glitterygook · 30/12/2005 17:38

And don't worry, I suspect RR is only posting on this thread to disguise the fact that they are really getting off on the orgasm thread

No such excitement on HPC.co.uk!!!

starlover · 30/12/2005 17:40

oooh there's a crash! funny, cos house prices are the same as ever round here

don't suppose any of you are selling in crawley?????

hunkermunker · 30/12/2005 17:42

I didn't venture further than the thread linked on this one - I was concerned I might lapse into a brain-running-out-of-ear coma if I did...!

Glitterygook · 30/12/2005 17:43

I had a quick look at the threads Hunker. You're not missing anything!

FlossNutsRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 30/12/2005 17:44

SL, they are prophets of our time. When the crash occurs sometime in the future, they will be sat in their incontince pads saying to all the young uns 'I told you soo!!'

RandyRodent · 30/12/2005 18:45

My what a lovely welcoming and friendly forum we all are. I was merely asked what I would do in such a situtation of debt and despite all your berating I unequivocally stand by what I have said in that personally I would stand up on my own two feet and be a man, have the balls, get a spine and get out there and work off my own debts. Work off the 'other peoples money' (yes thats what debt is - 'other peoples money') I had spent and no doubt had the pleasure of enjoying to the full.

To even consider the thought of approaching a friend or family makes me ashamed for them, and no doubt with the new found parental refusal the parents have (thankfully for all concerned in my mind) finally wised up to that old adage that in fact a leopard never changes its spots.

I know the truth probably hurts for most people drowning in debt, which is no doubt why I have received such illogical and illfounded castigation, but I would work and budget hard, and be proud of myself.

Again I wish the young couple good luck with their future debt, I just cannot see it working.

homemama · 30/12/2005 19:35

The problem RR isn't that you hold the view that getting into debt is a bad thing, it's that you're coming across as so high and bloody mighty towards someone whose situation you know nothing about.

Of course in an ideal world none of us would spend too much, eat too much, drink too much etc. But are any of us so pure as the driven snow that we can afford to take the moral highground? With a name that suggests you're a sex crazed sewer inhabitant, I very much doubt it!

FlossNutsRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 30/12/2005 19:38

You are talking to me. So address your posts to me. Believe it or not, you do not have a large audience. I did not ask you what you would do at all. You chose to comment on my situation. The asking his parents for money thing, for me, was for a duel purpose. For one it would be a short term (like 3 month) loan, hopefully enabling us to get our mortgage. Secondly, it meant DP had to address the mess he has got himself in with his parents. Now, seeing as you are not actually a 'proper' member of this forum, I would appreciate it if you butt out of my business and stop discussing me as if I am not here.

notasheep · 30/12/2005 20:34

Noddy-Market- really slow here(in Wales) it use to be very frantic with people buying holiday homes.

If i had the choice,i would put house on Market in the Spring-better weather, longer days, buyers in better moods.

There are definately buyers out there! I am one of them and have friends too,in rented accomodation and hoping to buy in 2006

Good luck and best wishes

SackAche · 30/12/2005 21:33

My goodness! How the hell did this thread turn nasty????

Randyrodent - So arrogant I cannot begin to describe you!!!!!
My situation.... I had student debts of a £2k interest free student overdraft. My student overdraft expired before I could find a job that paid enough to pay it off fully.... therefore massive interest was added on. I was advised (by the bank) to get a loan quickly to clear it.... which I did. I year later I had to move out of the flat I was living in as my flatmate turned a bit weird! I moved in with my Gran as a temporary measure. 2 months later I got another loan of £750 for a deposit on a place of my own. DP and I moved in and I got a better paid job. I got pregnant and we bought a house. When on Maternity leave we found oursleves struggling financially..... DP was doing all the overtime I could bear him to do, so I decided to consolidate those 2 loans to make the monthly payments smaller and to give us a 3 month payment break until I was back at work.

I did that, got a 2% lower interest rate too coz it had plummetted!.... they are paid off..... so MWAH! [sticking out tongue].... sorry, just had to stoop to RRs level!

starlover · 30/12/2005 21:37

haven't read entire thread... but have this to say with regard to borrowing money from family members

dp and i have NEVER been in debt. we both have/had credit cards which were all paid off on time. I have had a loan which was paid off fully, on time.

However... in order to get a mortgage for a house round here we need an ENORMOUS deposit. we've saved and saved and are about 3-4k short. Now we have ds it's increasingly difficult to save money.
so we're borrowing from family.

why is that such an issue?

SackAche · 30/12/2005 21:38

Starlover - It isn't.... RR is just having a massive egotistical rant!!!

hunkermunker · 30/12/2005 21:41

RR, you're rather arrogant. You might be able to stand on your own two feet, and perhaps you do indeed have a pair of balls, but I doubt very much you know what to do with your tiny widger.

SackAche · 30/12/2005 21:45

lol Hunker.... wouldn't it be rrrrrreally funny if his wife was running up MASSIVE credit card bills right now... as we type.

hunkermunker · 30/12/2005 21:50

Wife? Oh, yes, I suppose he might have one

Gingerbear · 30/12/2005 21:55

I bet RandyRodent isn't Martin lewis from Moneysavingexpert, he would be far more helpful.
bog off you daft mouse, before we come round and slip you a warfarin cocktail!

SackAche · 30/12/2005 21:57

Yup.... he's all smug coz he just doesn't actually know that she's in about £15k of debt with Credits cards, substituting her sad and lonely life with a husband that constantly harps on about the size of his balls and tells her to be a man.

He wants his wife to be a MAN!

gomez · 30/12/2005 21:59

Toothy - what is happening with your move? All done and dusted?

SackAche · 30/12/2005 22:01

WOOOHOO YES!
Missives all signed on both houses.... mortgage approved by the bank. Its good to go as Gordon Ramsay would say.

What about you???

hunkermunker · 30/12/2005 22:06

Why the deleted messages? To do with mentioning the forum?

gomez · 30/12/2005 22:06

Back in Riverside. BoFA on the market early January. Pi**ed of beyond belief. Hey, ho. Law idea is ditched for the forseaable. need to get another job however as will go nuts if I stay where I am. dinny · 30/12/2005 22:11

SackAche · 30/12/2005 22:14
