M2T - only really done the New York thing cos my brother lives there and I want to visit him, and Dh has never been too keen, hence the suprise!!

Also, he bought me a lovely Tag watch last year as a sort of thankyou cos DD was born a couple of mnths before, and he wanted something for me to keep.

I didn't , however, buy him anything for his birthday and he didn't let me forget (our wedding was the week before so I was somewhat pre-occupied!)

If your dh/dp is into cars, Autocar is offering a free copy of that Colin McRae PS2 game with every subscription, which seems like an excellent bargain!

Actually spacemonkey magazine subscriptions are a great idea for a present. I got DH a 12mth subscription to Good Food Magazine and he loves it, he's a real foody. It would work with whatever your DH/DP likes though from Top Gear Magazine to Razzle !!!

I think I'm getting dp this Star Wars game, any good to you SenoraPostophe? But it's for the PC and clearly I have first dibs on that at all times. Wish there was a PS2 version. Does anyone think I'll find this game cheaper than this anywhere? If so, please do let me know. I think I'll also get him a cool daddy t shirt since we'll have a baby by then and that's probably it since we've agreed to put a limit on it this year.

I've had great success buying dh membership to museums etc. If you live in London, a membership to Tate Modern is about £40 and comes with many benefits, like a members lounge - no queueing for food, and priority entry to exhibitions. At times he's had membership to the National Film Theatre and I'm considering the ICA this year.

However, he's usually happy with CD from the list he prepares for me each birthday/Christmas.

Hi, partnered folks, making a guest appearance to ask a question as these days the only man I have to buy a gift for is my assistant at work (and Dad). My assertive dating book suggests, amongst other things, going to a men's shop in the sales, and if anyone attractive is shopping by himself (what female partner would refuse to go with him?) to start a conversation by pretending to be searching for something for your brother. What men's shops seem to have the most sexy professional single men in them?

Coddy, no point at all, that's what I like about them! ALso his stuff is gorgeous quality and craftsmanship, I've got an obelisk I campaigned for a couple of years ago and the dice are just another way to own something else from there that's original and fun. I could hang them from the mirror in my Bentley
Outofpractice, I reckon you may be more likely to end up a fag hag than partnered !!

Well I finally made a start on Dh's pressies this afternoon.

From DD I got him a Times Atlas - he loves things like that, and has beens aying how he is looking forward to helping DD with learning about countries and thing, like his dad did -so that's fine.

I got him so far a CD walkman. Since moving to the city centre he now walks to walk and complains when I say that I have listened to the radio/music in the car. Man in John Lewis was really helpful too and persuaded me to buy a cheaper model than I was looking at, as I really didn't need the extra functions being offered. So now have to spend time finding him even more stuff.

Trouble for me is DH isn't into computers, mobiles and games consoles at all so many of the ideas here aren't any good for him

More shopping next week...
