Love that voucher idea!! I can think of lots of treats my DH would like. I have arranged my sis to babysit for 2 nights and have booked tickets to see a show in London as I can get reasonably priced accomodation. Can't wait for a couple of nights on our own

suedonim - doesnt help you I know but I bought dp a Scalextric last year which was well received and the envy of his friends (we had just had a second daughter and he thought his Scalextric dream was shattered...)

This Xmas he will be my dh (!) so I think I'll get him something boring but useful

lucy123 - is the Lord of the Rings Risk game like regular Risk only set in Middle Earth? If so where do I get one, dh would love it. He also loves his Philosophy football shirt, even though he's not a complete footie maniac. This year I've already bought him the DVDs of The Secret Policeman's Ball and may get something for the computer too. Plus a voucher for a float at one of those tank places - he loves them as he's really a girl at heart.

One birthday, my dh gave me a container full of tiny pieces of paper upon which he had scribbled loving messages. He told me I should pull out one piece of paper every day.

Mind you he was in the doghouse so he was grovelling well.

DVD's - he hinted what he wanted, I've ordered them and now everytime we go into town I have to stop him buying them for himself!!

My present will no doubt be a christmas eve special

Zero, zilch, nada, nothing! Several years ago we decided that the stress of trying to think of something, shop for it and then decide whether the other one REALLY liked it (or was just faking) far outweighed the pleasure of receiving a present. The first Christmas was tense as neither of us was sure the other one would stick to the present amnesty. We did. And so now we wake up on Christmas morning, tell each other how much we love each other/how big our mortgage is and enjoy watching our daughter opening her presents instead.

Maybe I'm just a grinch, but the fewer presents I have to buy and, in fact, the fewer I receive, the lighter I feel about Christmas!

Custy - they'll be able to buy a new player with the money you'd be giving for one of their shirts! My brother has a season ticket to see them, we know he's safe going on his own because he's the only fan there!!!!

We've just declared a Christmas present amnesty we cant afford anything after the wedding, but I spose we'll be getting our wedding gifts after New year so that should do it.

A divorce. Expect a telling off from WSM/OldVintage - same person?

Tell me about it Enid!
We will be using some Argos and M&S vouchers for our Christmas shopping!

I'm always stumped for something special to get DH. All he wants is CD's and it's bands I've never heard of so can't even surprise him!

When I get him HMV vouchers he's the happiest man EVER!

So simple.... so sad.

Sykes and Twinkie, reminds me of a tale my thrice married Uncle used to tell - on asking his then wife what she wanted she said a divorce to which he replied 'actually I wasn't thinking of spending that much'. And we wonder why he was married three times ?! :0

I still have no idea on what to get DH this Christmas and he is useless - has given me no hints at all despite me asking him outright. Was hoping for lots of ideas on here, but it does seem a bit spartan still

Anyone done there's yet? Any great, fab ideas?

My DH is having:

  • trip to New York for Valentines weekend (its a suprise for him!)
  • book about Ny (he hasn't been before)
  • The Office Series 2
  • Fawlty Towers box set
  • luurverlly Diesel hotpant-knicker things
  • t-shirt
  • wireless headphones
  • numerous cd's

Sorry, this list was probably useless to you. Blokes are just awquard to but for, arent they?

BTW, does he play golf? I have bought my dad a burberry golf glove. It was £30 (I thought you got a pair for that!) but he wouldn't go out and buy it himself!
