Breast milk soap, would you buy some?!

I'm finally buying my ingredients tonight online and need to know how much to buy lol... if someone offered you breastmilk soap would you really buy some? It'll be home made from 100% natural ingredients by the old fashioned cold press method which involves hard work and 2-3 weeks 'curing'...

for a 200 gram bar I'd want £2.50 and 60p postage...

It'll contain lovely yummy cinammon and coconut oil too... so would anyone want any (bearing in mind it won't be ready for weeks yet!)

[The breastmilk is milk that has been turned down by my milkbank due to the fact that I had a cold when producing it - this in no way makes the soap icky as the chemical process in soap making pretty much pasteurises it anyway]

Is it the first of April already!?

LOL at this thread and LOL at ole NoddyH!!!!

Fastasleep. i also overproduced and had to get a new freezer at one point. problem solved when old freezer died and ruined lots of the spare milk.

But can't you feed your baby the cold-infected milk and give the rest of your spare non-coldy milk to a milk bank?

misdee · 12/12/2005 20:08

i'd buy the soap. but leave out the coconut and cinnamon, how about some lavender.

what about that lactavist site someone link to? would they be interested.

FastasleepInAManger · 12/12/2005 20:08

I was actually 100% serious.

Breastmilk is actually incredibly good for your skin.

If you don't want to see it that way go back to using your cosmetics full of animal placenta and urine!

ohFennelyeHerbful · 12/12/2005 20:09

or why not just ramp down the over-production?

dropinthemanger · 12/12/2005 20:09

I would use it actually!!!

misdee · 12/12/2005 20:09

would it be good for eczema so you think

FastasleepInAManger · 12/12/2005 20:10

Didn't some MN-ers do a "trial" of breastmilk on dry skin conditions? Sure there was a thread...

ohFennelyeHerbful · 12/12/2005 20:12

I would buy it, and I would also give some to my Mum because she would go completely to pieces at the very thought of it

I think it's a fab idea, but does it contravene some health and hygiene regulation? Sorry everyone p*ssed on your parade, it has really made me smile.

FastasleepInAManger · 12/12/2005 20:26

It does, unless it's been pasteurised..

katzglitterytree · 12/12/2005 20:31

i think its a great idea.

on another note, some studies have shown that breast milk can help in the treatment of cancer, but i guess you would have similar problems because of the cold, you might be able to find out which research centres are looking into this and might want some unuseable breast milk

morningpaper · 12/12/2005 20:31

I think it's a GREAT idea, you'd get loads of publicity and sales from both perverts and hippies.

katzglitterytree · 12/12/2005 20:33

Oooh - a present for MIL, definitely! No - I don't think I would buy it, sorry. No bodily secretions from another person, thanks (other than immediate family )

FastasleepInAManger · 12/12/2005 20:38

(Again face creams are full of animal placenta and weeeeeeeee! What? they are!)

OP posts:
paolosgirl · 12/12/2005 20:41

FastasleepInAManger · 12/12/2005 20:45
