What do I want for Christmas??

I suggested a proposal but was told not to get my hopes up.. even when I tried the "But I'm just trying to make life easy for you darling, this way you won't have to trawl the shops" even that didn't work and he hates shopping!

So other than that I can think of the following things but these's nothing I can think of that I really really want

Sky+
A cleaner
Some decent kitchen knives (saw some lovely weighted ones in Debenhams) but kinda think they are wedding list stuff
A watch but it's too expensive
Maybe my colours done?
Vouchers to get my eyebrows done for all of next year
A new bottle of my day perfume

Just a grumble really

How about a crytal-clear pain-free stream of wee?

MascaraOHara · 12/12/2005 16:49

ahhh yes wee is pretty good now thanks!

FlameRobin · 12/12/2005 16:50

I was really hoping that that was relevant in some way - I guess it was!!!

alLIOluia · 12/12/2005 16:53

I wouldn't mind a really great dictionary. Sexy enough for you?

MascaraOHara · 12/12/2005 16:57

lol, I need a dictionary but not sure I really want one

Lol FlameRobin at the thought of someone making completely out of the blue comment about wee. Might try that one day!

Thought she might be having the problem herself, and was maknig random suggestions as to what she would like... was going to add "the ability to drink milk without getting a huge headache" ... glad I waited now!!!

Easy · 12/12/2005 17:03

Hmmm well I want some lovely new cusions for the living room, and new white mats for the bathroom.

But dh says he doesn't know how to buy those.

FlameRobin · 12/12/2005 17:05

I love the "doesn't know how" to buy them!!!

MascaraOHara · 12/12/2005 17:07

lol, dp did offer to pay some moeny towards my new settee but what good is that unless he buys all of the settee and that is more expensive than the watch.

Easy there's loads of house stuff I want but I feel like at Christmas he should buy something for me not for my house! I guess because he doesn't buy me stuff very often that I try and make the most of it at Christmas/Birthday

MascaraOHara · 12/12/2005 17:07

I think he has a point though - do men know how to buy cushions?

OP posts:
FlameRobin · 12/12/2005 17:08

I'd love to see the results if I sent DH out for cushions

alLIOluia · 12/12/2005 17:09

Ooh, semi-sensible one: a night out. That's something I'd like. Not necessarily with dh, just a night out.

Easy · 12/12/2005 17:10

But as I'm here looking at the old grotty stuff all week while he's away, I would get benefit out of household stuff.

And he claims to be colourblind (I'm not convinced) as his defence to not buying them.

If it isn't in the Maplins, RS or PC World catalogue, he hasn't a clue.

FlameRobin · 12/12/2005 17:10

I'd like him to take DD out for a whole day. I don't remember the last time I had the house completely to myself.

One lovely present DH did buy me once... Nice bubble bath, and a set of talking books - so that I could have relaxy baths and have someone read me stories at the same time. It was so well thought out

alLIOluia · 12/12/2005 17:11

And one for FlameRobin: what I want for Christmas is to start a thread that gets really really popular and ensures my name in the MN hall of fame (rather than my usual efforts which I bump shamelessly in order to reach double figures).

FlameRobin · 12/12/2005 17:12

I had a colourblind ex once... he had a wardrobe full of dodgy orange shirts because he'd got it into his head that he wanted a red shirt, and kept bringing home orange ones .

FlameRobin · 12/12/2005 17:13

... what is your non-festive name? Wasn't sure if I recognised you or not!!

MascaraOHara · 12/12/2005 17:13

Lol Easy! out your Laura Ashley (or whereever) catalogue in the Cover of the PC World Catalogue and circle the ones you want!

Colourblind - what a fab excuse.

Actually his time is all I really would like.. if he made a promise to spend I night in every weekend of next year I would be the happiest person alive but that's never going to happen

MascaraOHara · 12/12/2005 17:15

Lio, I've not seen many threads by you but I come and go and at funny times too sometimes so I never think it's unusual if someone pops up that I don't recognise. Have seen you around before though.

Will make a conscious effort to post next time I see a thread by you

OP posts:
MascaraOHara · 12/12/2005 17:16

and of course that should be 'put your Laura Ashley...'

OP posts:
alLIOluia · 12/12/2005 17:19

How nice! Truthfully I've only started a few and they were mostly a bit minority interest, but I once started what I thought was a totally fab one that would go into the hundreds... but no.

And for Christmas, how about a fab pair of boots in the sale that cost less than whatever the watch is that you like. Fab boots are such a good investment and part of the present could be the childminding to allow you to have a decent shop.

FlameRobin · 12/12/2005 17:19

Lio makes more sense... my eyes kept merging the letters and I had a wierd welsh looking Llioll . Lio does sound familiar . Does that mean I'm on here far too much???

alLIOluia · 12/12/2005 17:21

And I'm normally Lio ? committed a MN boo-boo by choosing the name Oil at first, not knowing there was an OliveOil, so now I'm Oil backwards. Hausfrau is my best friend (which surely gains me some points) and thought of the Christmas name for me because she's clever.

MascaraOHara · 12/12/2005 17:23

Just bought myself fab boots and two new jackets when I was doing my christmas shopping. I thought dp might have offered to buy the boots but he didn't.

Got a lovely Francesco Biasco bag from parents as an early present too otherwise could've asked dp to buy that. He scoffed at the price though when we walked passed one in another shop. Was trying to walk between him and it but he moved me. DAMN! After I'd gone to great lengths to hide the price label as well..

starting to think there should be a warning when you choose your name "Beware, if it is too similar to a regular poster then you will be jumped on and beaten until you agree to change"
